My friend will be staying somewhere in Amherst (northern part I think.) She's not much of a morning person, and I'm having a tough time of talking her into coming at all.
Reversing the route seems like it might work better to me. The mapped route wouldn't get us to the Yankee Candle until about 1 if we didn't really stop at all, so we'd be getting to Bubs pretty late. Would it make sense to head straight to Yankee Candle, and backtrack to Bubs so we're eating closer to lunch time? It's only like 7 minutes according to google, and I dunno if I'd want to be eating ribs before 11am..
FRS (that's the unlicensed band, right?) radios are all intercompatible aren't they? Anyone who has one should probably just bring what they've got. I think my parents have a couple I could borrow.

Does anyone else live in the area of this run? It makes a big difference to have someone who knows the roads leading.

My friend, if I can convince her to actually go on the ride, went to UMass for 4.5 years and had a car for 2 or 3 of them. I've tooled around there a bit, but don't really know the roads (and probably haven't been on most of them that are further from Amherst.)
Any idea what the turnout is going to be? Sounds like it's getting smaller by the day..

It's looking like a fizzle fo shizzle m'nizzle.

It's tough to pull together w/o someone who knows the roads to lead the run. That's why the Spring Run didn't come together. Without someone who knows the roads it gets a little tricky and less organized. Especially when the better roads are random offshoots along Rt. 9.

Anyone else want to chime in?
