I used to drive those roads when I was a kid (20+ years ago). There was a little mountain road just over the bridge in Sunderland that winds up to a lookout. Some good driving out there.

Are you going to Lime Rock Park memorial weekend? There should be quite a few 8s there. Check out this thread for the info. And welcome!

Much easier to say yes when there are dates involved.

I'm down for either of those dates, with the 8th probably being better.

Put together a map - if you show the twisties, they will come.

I know there are some kick *** roads in the area.

Post (or PM me) the start point (address) and a couple town names +/- addresses along the route and I can put together a map over the weekend.

This does sound really good, I may be hung over, my 21st birthday is June 4th, and we are having a HUGE party June 7th. But I will definately put this into my calendar. How far up into Mass is the starting point?

I may be in for this. The chick's got friends out at Umass, so that may be a good weekend to visit them.

I'm in, but do the schedule and the map agree? Looks to me like there's 1 hour on the schedule (11-12) to go what the map shows as over 2 hours of driving, then an hour and a half for the photo shoot and a 9 minute drive to bubs.

EDIT: Just read the last line in the map post. Could someone post a rough updated schedule? I may be picking someone up in the middle of the route and would like to know where I'll have time to re-meet the group.

The map reflects a more enticing drive, and should make it a few hours of driving. Rotaryspeed also mentioned (in a PM) that there are a couple of great roads he knows that branch off of route 9 that will be even better driving.

Rotaryspeed will have to confirm, but I'd say a 10 a.m. meet time to start should give everyone enough time to make it there. I know it will take me ~1.5 hours to get to Ware. The rough schedule will have to be up to him, as it's his area.

Radios will probably be a good idea, as rt9 goes through enough towns that some people could catch red lights and need to catch up. Radios make that a ton easier to handle, and are pretty cheap at any electronics store.

Skrubol - post where you will need to meet/pick up someone and maybe it can be worked in as a short rest/gas stop to you can just pick up and get back to the group.

dmc is correct the schedule was just a rough outline of the day. with the help of the map it shows a more elaborate path. 10 am is a good time to meet up and am thinking reversing the route at the split point in amherst. just post where your friend lives and we can make an arrangement!
