Should have given an update to the non-locals when I got back yesterday. Her coils are definitely the issue. Well, there might be something else, but all symptoms are point at the coils.
I showed up and we took it out for a test drive, and initially I had it in manumatic to keep the revs up, and I wasn't noticing any direct problems. Felt different from mine, but I wanted to be sure I wasn't just feeling the difference between AT and MT. Then I dropped it into normal auto mode, and that is where it was obvious. From idle to ~5k RPM it has the torque of a Playskool stubby wrench wielded by a toddler. After 5k, it picks up more to what is expected, but it isn't even a gradual change.. it is flat NOTHING until 5k, and jumps to about what I would expect for the auto's loss in power.
I checked out a few things that I had knowledge on, and everything seemed normal, so We just kept chatting and I was sorting through some of her dealer paperwork for comments and what was/was-not replaced. I noticed then that the dealer never commented or noted coils at all.
Come to find out, she is at 62,xxx miles on her original stock coils. Which explains the weak ignition that allowed the initial flood, the inability for the basic deflood to get it started again, the complete lack of power in the first 60% of the band, and the mis-firing up high. (Flashing CEL)
There could be something else, but she is getting replacement coil packs this week, and will have some help getting them replaced this coming Saturday, so we should see if that solves all the issues, or if there is anything else. (Other than a worn-out rear shock)
More to follow then...
And oh, there were some pics taken, hopefully she posts them...here would be a good spot for the one where she is hugging her 8
And she can certainly grill up some steaks and barbecue chicken...yummy.

I KNEW IT! That's such BS pulled by the dealership. How the hell was she supposed to know it was the coils? She trusted the dealership to be thorough but they still couldn't do it with the tools they had - leave it up to some enthusiasts to remedy the problem. . . Pfftt. . .
Good job yet again guys.

after you've added your pics and you double-click on one to bring it up, it gives you a URL. if you copy that URL you can go back and insert it as an image (usually i just go in and edit my original post and add that).
