Gas price gouging across CT?

Okay, someone help me explain this. WHy is gas in CT an average of 20-30 cents higher than MA when they are normally only 10-15 cents difference. Did some a$$hole jack up the price at one gas station and everyone else followed because they can? Or did the politicans increase gas tax again like last year?

pshh high gas prices are all i know in CT. i think last time i filled up i payed 339 per gal...and i always get upset when going through different states and looking at significantly lower gas prices except NYC, just remember CT is the richest or 2nd richest state in the country taxes are a main the cause.

According to that map, I see CT as 13.5 cents more than Mass. Gas prices tend to be what the market will bear. Gas fluctuates by as much as 20 cents per gallon depending on location and how much of a jerk the owner feels like being. I tend to get my gas at the same place every time. Their prices are usually average, but they have a convenient location and the attendants (which in NJ is mandatory) generally seem apt.
