Where is the carpool in Herdon? I'm familiar with the area but I don't remember a carpool lot.

It's near the corner of Herndon Parkway and Elden Street. It's between that intersection and the new overpass for Fairfax County Parkway. It's in the building where Red Hot and Blue used to be, near the Outback.

(Btw, Carpool is a bar. Just in case that wasn't clear...)

I'm in Falls Church on the Tyson's side. I also work in Tyson's, so that's where you'd spot me most days of the week. Sunlight Silver 8. There's a Ti Gray one in my neighborhood too - I met the guy at the Shell station on Anderson Rd a few months ago and I see it parked by the apartment complex all the time. Are you on here yet?

I saw another Sunlight Silver yesterday on Westwood Center Drive (where I work also). Was that anyone here? It looked so sweet I followed it past my building just to see it for a few more moments. I u-turned and headed to work after that.

Hey, Pos, sorry to hear about the 4Runner incident and all the damage. Hope your '8 comes back better than new.

I go into DC every day from Alex., don't see many 8's making that commute. (You'll hear me before you see me until I decide how to fix the CZ4 exhaust - Borla combo -- either is great alone, but together they produce a tone at certain RPMs that puts the Cicadas to shame.)

Couldn't join the drive yesterday; was in PA on vacation. Hope it was great.

It was! Great day for a drive and great views. After we split up to go our separate ways, I hear one of the 350Zs had an extended chat with the Park Police.

I get off work at 5 each day; about a mile from the Carpool. If you guys want to meet this week after work I'm okay with any day but Wednesday (Lynyrd Skynyrd tickets at Wolf Trap).

Thanks, I know where that is.

I think any day after work this week except Wednesday (off at 5, I can be there around 5:30-5:45).

Unfortunately I get off work at 8 every day. So it'd have to be on a day off for me (I get 2 weekdays off and work weekend). Tuesday and Thursday this week I have off...

"how will I be able to spot you guys?"

Well I already know what TreknMazda looks like, so I was planning on just looking for him. Maybe we should all wear funny hats?...lol.

I do have a black RX-8 hat, a black RevItUp After Dark hat and a black Spencer Racing hat with 3 Rotors. But I don't find anything funny about them. I will wear one of those hats. Now if we are going to be there awhile, maybe I'll switch every half hour.:D

Question Any future scenic drives?

Hey "TREKNMAZDA" aka Carl I really wanted to join you guys for the Skyline mountain drive this past Saturday but something came up. Any future RX-8 drives scheduled for the near future?

How about the RX-8 "Fest" at Summit point? How's the status on that?

thanks

all of you that live near or around Falls Church have got to show up for one of these meetings, good times had by all!

There will be more to come. A fall Skyline Drive drive is definite in October.

The 2nd Annual Mid-Atlantic RX-8 Festival aka Second Annual Mid-Atlantic Mazda Tech Fest is still being planned/coordinated. Latest news is that the Shenandoah Circuit is aiming for a July 10 opening so we should be good for the August 28/29 event. Registration for the high speed driving school on Shenadoah Circuit that weeken is now open at Mada Drivers website. You can also link there thru the MSCW website.

Just found out today the next MSCW tech session will be June 16th at Gaithersburg Mazda. Details posted soon to the MSCW website.

Also, as for scenic drives, we host a Mazda scenic drive every month, usually the first weekend after the first Wednesday of the month. Always check the MSCW website for details on past and future events.

MSCW Monthly meeting...
Cars start showing up between 6:30 and 7 pm in the large parking lot. The meeting starts at 7:30, typically in the Fuddruckers private dining room. But we have been known to hold the meeting outside when the weather is nice and over 70 people show up.

DOH! Forgot all three. I'll be the guy without a hat.
