OMG FOG you're alive! The thing is, a lot of the people that show up are under age so we can't really leave them out of it. Idk of any bars down there either.

TKs is pretty close, good bar but pretty cramped, Molly Darcy's is on the other side of town by the mall (10-15 minutes)

There's also Widow Brown's, Maggie McFly's, O'Connors (a bit small), and Down the Hatch, all are pretty close by.

Yep! Still kicking and breathing......

As much as I would love to hang out with the "hello kitty" generation tonight, i just found out that I have an IT disaster test tonight that I am required to join.

Anyone want to do something this weekend?

Nice, its this Sunday by www.cartct.com, check it out. I'm comming from Southbury, if you are comming up from that direction let me know, we could meet up and drive on over. If not I'll just meet you there.

BTW, there is a Ice Cream Social at the Coldstone by the Danbury Mall, if anyone is down, let me know. I plan on getting there for 745 today, if anyone wants to drive down, give me a holler, PM me or something and we'll figure it out.

I'm in.... This might finish off what's left of my brakes and of course I need new ignition coils on top of that so there shouldn't be any danger of me going too fast!

I need to get/find my helment, I have one at the office, I think the ex-girlfriend has the other....

So any of the guys I talked to about SCCA/Solo/PDA Racing/Track days want to see how it's done (but a lot slower! LOL) come on out...

I don't have any tools, compressors, coolers (damn ex has it all) but I'll be there will my limped up 8....

Anybody going have any painters tape so I can make up numbers?

I got you covered on the tape Joe. Its gonna be an event now. We got Jesse, FOG and KingBonacci as well as myself going. This should be good. I'll try to go to Sports Authority or Kmart and see if they got tents or something.

Ok, let me go thru my checklist......
  1. Emptied out the car...... Check!
  2. Topped of the gas tank with some decent gas (finally!)..... Check!
  3. Add a little two stroke oil to the fuel.... Check!
  4. Checked/topped off the oil.... Check!
  5. Tightened my loose battery.... Check!
  6. Got a couple gallons of H2O and Gatoraide.... Check!
  7. Got some beef jerky and some chips.... Check!
  8. Got sunscreen and a hat... Check!
  9. All season crappy tires inflated.... Check!
  10. Lousy aceleration and flat iginition coils.... Check!
  11. Brakes on their last 1,000 miles.... Check!
  12. Found one full face helmet (damn ex-girlfriend has new open faced helmet!).... Check!
  13. Not a snowballs chance in hell's of winning.... Check!
Looks like I'm as ready as I will ever be! LOL!

Does everyone wear long pants? I know it was required in some of the groups I used to run in....

Ok, just checking in here and realizing I didn't notice the link you posted about the event. I was thinking it was a car show. Is this a track we can drive on? I checked out the link but can't figure out exactly what is what on there. My 8 is completely stock, don't know what you guys are running or if my car is worthy to take out on a track although is sounds like alot of fun. You guys have anything as far as performance mods? Also what is needed to be able to participate? Helmet, long pants? Sorry this will be my first event like this if I go so please excuse my noobness lol. I'm still interested though, I'm dying to see my 8 along side a few more. I'll be comming from norwalk.

No worry dude. Just come as you are. I don't think you have to wear pants, but I haven't AutoXed with Cart in a year so I'd bring a pair just in case. Its not a show, and its not a track, its a closed parking lot that they set up with cones. Trust me its a blast, and its perfectly ok that you are stock. My first year was the same so no worries. Don't worry about what we got right now, we'll help you out when you get there as its your first time. Just come to enjoy. If you have a DOT approved helmet that is less than 10yrs old, bring it. If not you can just borrow mine with Jesse or something. If you have a lot of stuff in your car, I'd take whatever I could out, you can pull the mats and stuff out later. They don't want any lose items in your car.

Joe, I got a cooler and will load it up with ice and I have a few gatorade bottles and water also, since its going to be hot, we can't go wrong with the drinks. I'll try to get a tent for Sunday also. It should be fun.

Oh that was going to suck big time! I thought it was tomorrow and planned on getting up early!

Well crap! Now I have to find something to do tomorrow!

I wonder where I can find an isolated parking lot with a bunch of cones..... Hmmmm! LOL

Good thing I decided to double check!

Ok, if anyone wants to meet up tomorrow I'll be at Exit 25 off 84 East. Right off the exit is a gas station, I'll be in the parking lot around 8:00 if you want to meet up and drive there. I'd like to get to the event for 8:30 and get all the registration before there is a huge line and get my car checked out and walk the course a few times. Let me know if anyone is down to meet up if you're going that way. PM me because I get the PM alerts and don't get the thread alerts for some reason.

Ignition coil, plugs and wires

I found this on eBay....

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...=STRK:MEWAX:IT

Is it a good price? It has everything I need, right?

I'd prefer to buy the kit on eBay so I can use my Pay Pal charge card.... How broke is that?

Also, how hard is it to swap all this out and is there any gotcha's or tuning I need to know about?

I am also looking to buy some front rotor's and pads (all the way around) but since my ex-wife has all my tools (except for a couple crappy ones) I'll need someone's help to replace the brakes and a place to do it at... I'll provide the liquid refreshments (if you're old enough)....

Thanks,
The F.O.G.

You might need coils big guy. My ignition is phasing out too. The last time it happened Colonial mazda replaced the coils plugs and wires. It seems a bit steep, i'd shop around if you could. I might know of a couple places that you could get stuff for cheaper.

I would contact Ray at BHR. I don't know if he carries the OEM coils but if not, I would guess he could put you with someone that can (or you can pick another vendor for those). the fleaBay deal isn't that great of a deal (but isn't too high) and most vendors will let you put it on a credit card and/or use PayPal. depending on your budget, it may be worth putting down the extra couple hundred to get the upgraded BHR kit. if it's not in the cards, I'd still look at BHR to get you the OEM stuff for less than you'll find elsewhere and it'll be from someone you can trust.

btw - let me know when you do it. I'm not all that handy but I still have to install my BHR ignition kit and we could see who all would look to get together for a meet and do it then.

Thanks for the info guys...

I looked at BHR (too expensive) besides I need to do the brakes also so I went ahead with the eBay buy... Wasn't the cheapest but wasn't too far out of the range.

Now to get brakes....
