Two things:

There is a Ti. Mazdaspeed 8 floating around town as well as a Greddy Turbo 8 that Passen Motorsports recently completed. How do we not know who these people are yet?

The Ti. 8 that I saw on 315 South just had the kit and my audio installer was the one that told me about the turbo 8 at last Fridays car show. He said the 8 was silver. Just a little FYI. At first, I thought AlphaPenguin ponied up and got himself a turbo but I'm sure if that were the case we would have heard about it by now.

We'll get something together again soon.

This past weekend I was driving east on the northern loop of 270 and saw a silver 8 off on the side of the road fixing a flat tire. Made me think. Does anyone know what our roadside assistance is like (assuming we have one)? I forgot to renew my AAA membership last year and never got around to it. Since I don't have a spare tire in my trunk I need to make sure I have a way of getting a lift if I have a flat. Seeing how I had a nail in my sidewall just recently it doesn't seem too hard to get a flat with all this construction going on around town.

when i ran over the deer they didnt cover it b/c it wasnt the cars fault. they said theyd come, but for a charge so i used aaa. i cant say for sure, but id think the same applies if you run over something and get a flat tire

So, who was it that I saw at the Panera on Broad/Gould today driving a black 8? I was the silver 8.

Thought I might see some of you guys at the OSU autocross today, but no. I'd like to do that, but it's a heck of a long day. Got a ride with my son's buddy - it's a hoot. But putting 8 or 9 hours on a hot parking lot for 5 minutes on the track seems tough. Gotta find a better way.

Were you guys in a red 8? I got there at about 3 pm to check out the action and as I turned in, I saw a red 8 leaving. There were some great cars running towards the end of the day. I saw a modded Z06, Porsche 911 Turbo, NSX, and lots of others with some pretty decent drivers. We should meet up spme time at the auto-x.

That sounds like a great idea. I know that I stopped by the 315/Ackerman parking lot on a weekend once and there weren't any cars there. I was able to auto-x a bit using some of the lines from the course they use there. All we need is lots of cones, and an empty, smooth lot. Any ideas?

Are you sure there aren't "officiallities" (if that's even a word) of getting local authorities onsite? I always thought there would be more to it than cones to run an AutoX event.

Eitherway, I'd like my shot at killing some cones! Count me in for an all RX-8 AutoX event!

Do you think that it's too early to start drinking for the weekend?

The humidity is making me thirsty. :D

Columbus - Mark Fravel at Quality Window Tint on Morse Road. Been doing business with him for 15 years. Send me a pm before you go so I can give you some more info on pricing and such. I've sent him alot of business over the years and all as worked out well.
Success, need some info for window tint! First, what's the percentage on yours? What's the cost for our cars in a 35-40 %, normal charcoal color.

Ra,
I have 38% Stealth Tint all around. Mark has two levels of tint. One with a fine metal layer (Stealth) b/w layers of tint and one without (Regular). The Stealth is slightly more expensive but it's guaranteed not to fade to that purple color that alot of tints fade to. Look for a price around $125 or so.

Any new additions to the ride since we last met? Other than the bulbs.

Huhwha - Now that's what I'm talkin' about!

You know guys, we could all meet for a happy hour some day after work.

Anthony- I may be getting tints done soon. Probably the regular standard color. 38% looks about right. I forgot what yours look like, but I do remember liking it. I'll check Mark out and tell him you referred me. Let's see...the only new addition I have since we met is a cargo organizer, and painted calipers. G2 Kit Black with "mazda" emblem. Oh and I will be doing a Zaino weekend this weekend, so a plethora of new product coats.

I can't afford anything right now, just dropped a ton of money on a big purchase ;-). It was between the GReddy turbo kit and a ring...I chose the latter. That's right, Jenna and I are engaged! I know, i know...you guys can nag me later when we meet up again!

RIght now I am online at a Panere bread in Upper Arlington, and I just saw a black 8 pull up, and it isnt Hunghorse. Anyone here live in UA? I guess I could ask the guy when he comes out of the car, but I'd rather not.

Hey RA! Congrats, I actually just read your whole post and saw the last part. I think for me, I didnt have a chance in hell getting a turbo kit, so the ring won by default:-)

Thanks all! The detailing went well, all 8 hours of it, but my legs and back are done! I think this can also count as an aerodynamic mod, reducing drag .

Ra, Congradulations! Somehow, I think that a ring will bring you more happiness than a turbo.

Did you clay bar your 8? If so, how did it go? I've never done that. Just a wash, cleaner, polish & wax for me.

Hung - I was thinking of heading down to the fest. at some point also.

Any takers on getting together and heading down this Sunday? Or maybe just an ice cream meet again?

I think it will too! With my luck, I'd probably set the boost too high and blow the engine up.

I used Meguiar's clay bar because Zaino's Z-18 Claybar was on 3 week back-order when I placed my order. It was a lot easier to use than I thought, and it worked like wonders! It's perfect for the bumper and the lower area where it gets a lot of abuse. Picks everything right up.
