^Kelly - Any noticeable difference with the change??
How is Mazda-Direct, as far as servicing goes? Are they willing to work with you? Since I'm working on that side of town (right across the street), I may have to switch from Byer's. I'm reluctant because Byer's have been absolutely wonderful to work with.
(Wake up hibernating Columbus folks!!! Our thread is sloooooowwww!)

the starter is waaaay better. car starts in a second, no problems with cranking or anything. md is way better than byers. ive had serious issues with paul to the point that i had to put in a formal complaint to mna about him. i had to talk to a mgr to get the starter done since i wasnt having flooding issues, but he called his tech rep and they said ok. just say you have a rough idle

On a side note, I'v noticed that several other 8 owners, probably not members on this site though, make absolutely no attempt to acknowledge and wave when I see them. Have you guys noticed that too?

Saw the funniest thing while having lunch at California Pizza kitchen at Easton yesterday. Guy in an RSX drives by super slow through the cross walk. Had no mods (stock everything) from what I can see, EXCEPT a "lambo" door conversion. How did I know? Because both of his doors were up! Guy was also by himself, no passenger, driving with both of his doors up! So anyway, going through the crosswalk he hits the little bumps from the brick and does an abrupt stop, SLAM!@#$CRUNCH!, his driver side door comes slamming down! You should have seen his reaction, the look on his face was priceless! :-D Felt bad for the guy because people were pointing and laughing.

I brought my 8 out for a day or two after it had warmed up AND we got enough rain to wash the salt off the roads.
Even managed to sneak it into Byers and get the warranty recall work done.

You can all thank me for the lack of winter in Columbus (knocks wood). After shelling out for my winter tires and wheels, we have no winter!
It's ok though - I never need to see snow again!

i've never had another person in an RX8 wave to me except one person, but that was a while ago. When I used to drive around my dad's vette, everyone ALWAYS waved.
I really want to take my snow tires off, driving back and forth from columbus to athens I am sure is wearing them down hard.

Our luck, isn't it? The way things are going, our winter tires will probably have at least 2 seasons of wear just from this winter alone. I'm so itchy to go back to stock.

I went into Byers this morning for my rough start and idle issue. They swapped out the starter, battery and leading spark plugs. The new starter sounds completely different, it spools up in no time and has a higher pitched whirring sound. Seems to run much smoother as well, which is either the new plugs or a placebo effect. Mazda really backs their product and seems to be actively pursuing solutions to the customer complaints which is pleasing.

Cool, who was your service guy? I need to go in for that. It's almost embarrassing in the parking lot when you have to crank your car a few times before she fires up. Even more so when you have your boss in the car. :/
I've decided to throw my summers back on. It's supposed to get up in the higher 50s this weekend. If it begins to snow again, you guys can blame me!

Yeah - these are times when I wish I had a lift & air gun. Too much effort for me now - cause we still got February to get through.
After I get back from vacation in March I'll be back to the stockers.

I think that I'll be putting my stockers back on too especially before I drive to PA towards the end of Feb. Does anyone here have one stock Potenza that they want to sell to me since mine has an unrepairable hole in it?
