I am sorry but this post is wack!!!

First you say it was waaaayyy under list then you go on to say you told him you could get it cheaper some where else so he priced matched. Sounds like he wanted to stick it too you until you called him out. Like any other dealer in VA they all ******* suck! The only people that actually like these dealers are the old yuppies that like being screwed and overcharged.

Rosenthal Mazda Tyson's Corner sells stuff way under list too.

Too bad the best thing about them (Steve Miller) went to Arlington.

I'll stand by the service at the Brown's in Fairfax as well... With my '85, it's getting very difficult to find parts... But everything that I've asked for so far, Craig has FOUND!! And the parts have gotten here QUICK!!! less than 24 hours!!!

I'm not sure if the Brown's Mazda in Fairfax is related at all to the Brown's Mazda in Alexandria, but I was certainly NOT impressed by the Alexandria Brown's supposed awards for their "superior" service department. Unenthusiastic, unprofessional, and demonstrated a total lack of situational awareness and communication.

Totally opposite experience at Rosnethal/Arlington. Absolutely outstanding outfit. Very professional and very proactive. Will defeinitiely go back to them for parts & services

Spacer X……you are absolutely correct in your comments about Brown’s Mazda in Alexandria! Long story short, when I went to buy there they tried to hustle me hard. When I called them on it, I had the manager following me into the parking lot trying to make a better deal…..I left there and went to Rosenthal in Arlington and got a $7,000.00 better deal without any problems. Brown’s Mazda of Alexandria management…if you read this, yours salesmanship and ethics are extremely lacking, go over to Rosenthal’s and get some classes on customer relations!

Let me add to Brown's Alexandria rave reviews from the last post.... *sarcasm In fact I came into this forum hoping to read something about them.

I bought a Tit. Gray '04 from their used car sales last November. Upon the final paperwork and getting ready to drive home... I was handed one key. If I could have done it again, we would have gone and sat back down to talk about my "one" key. Partially my mistake... but with three kids and several hours into the process, my comment to the sales guy of me getting at least another key and his head shake was good enough.

They were also were late sending my tags... it took at least three calls to get them. Finally someone found them in a drawer after two different people said they had been sent. Our 30-day tags had long run out by the time we got them. I dislike scenarios like this; it makes me think of disorganization and a lackadaisical attitude.

Well it is now months later, and I haven't received my key or keys. Maybe I'm just weird, but getting only one key bugs me. Upon reading through the forums it appears that the procedure to add another key needs two to begin with. I truly do not want to make the long haul to Alexandria to get a key. Heck, I can't even get my smiling salesmen to return my messages. Which have been pleasant so far…

I sympathize. Sounds like more of the sad truth I experienced -- clueless (oblivious, perhaps?)

I laid into their service department pretty hard -- but only by relating facts as pertained to my experience. Even emailed MNAO, FWIW. Got an email back from MNAO acknowledging the email. Played phone tag for a few days with the service department manager -- I think his name was "Allen" or something similar. After a while I realized all I would be doing by talking to them is providing constructive feedback -- pointing out solutions to fix things... it was no longer worth my time to try to help, so I gave up.

Anyway.

You should definitely rake them over the coals for not supplying you with two keys. Additionally, did they give you a "valet" key? Note that you should've also gotten a key that will start the car but not unlock the trunk or glove box...

I got one key and one fob... that's it. (no valet key)

After posting yesterday... I decided to get a little more into the issue. I spoke with the sales manager. According to him, the salesman is no longer there. I guess that would be a good reason my calls have been unanswered in the last few weeks at least. So the initial discussion with the sales guy and ensuing reminders are kind of a foregone thing.

Anyway, at this point the position of the sales manager is that used cars only come with the keys they came with. That's all fine and dandy except for the sales guy and I had an agreement. My wife also reminded me last night that the finance guy had indicated there were more keys that would be sent to us. He had some excuse about them being around... locked up or something. I was tending to our autistic son during this part of the sales process, so I guess I missed that.

The issue here isn't really about money, it's about making good. I can get another key and fob for like $40. I buy a vehicle at least every two years... there is no danger of me spending another dime there. I value a car salesmen who is interested in a happy customer. In fact I have bought three lightly used vans from another saleman for this very reason. He has tossed in a few bobbles , some not even at my request which is nice.

From the sounds of it, I think I will forget their service department.
