Greetings Pittsburgh Area Members

Hello all Pittsburgh area members. I am looking to get a black MT RX-8 in the very near future. With the $4000 rebate on all 2004s I am pretty sure that's the route I am going.

Anyway, I wanted to first say hello: Hey!
Secondly, is there a club or gathering of all Pittsburgh RX-8 owners? If not, there should be!
Lastly, does any have tinted windows in their 8? I'm interested but always afraid of "the man".

i look forward to joining the cult.

Not a lot of Pittsburghers active on this board? I picked up an RX8 last night. When I saw Velocity Red in person I fell in love.
Here's the only pic I have (taken at 12:30 AM)
Velocity Red 2004 Mazda RX-8 equipped with all of the following options:
1.3L Renesis Rotary Engine
238hp/150 trq
6 Speed Manual
Black Leather Heated Seats
DVD-based Navigation
Bose 300 Watt 9 speaker stereo
Moon Roof
18 inch rims

Hey!

I've had my 8 since late January, and I've been around on this board since about a month before that. This is my first time on the regional though. I'm not sure if theres a club but I've been seeing quite a few 8's around lately...

welcome!

I think I've seen one or two other Pittsburgh-area guys on this board, not sure though.

Wheeling is close enough...

I know that everyone says this when they drive this car, but man does it attract attention. I've never been asked so many questions before. It's kind of wild.

Last night I had an open road on 279, didn't even push the car through the gears and it was up around 100 in no time. The scary thing about that is how NOT SCARY it was. Amazing. I look forward to seeing you guys around the Burgh.

My wife would kill me if she knew...but I have also had that experience, with speed. There are a few spots on the interstate that are clear view for a safe distance, so I send it up. The ease at which it goes there is the exact thing that scares me. My old car...it actually felt like I was going fast on the highway at around 75 or 80. In my 8, however, it feels like I am creeping along at that speed, so my foot adjusts accordingly. Thankfully, Valentine is watching my back.

There is nothing sweeter than a red sports car...HOWEVER, with the purchase of said sports car and knowing my tendencies...I thought stealth mode would be better in titanium.

Hi all. I've been an RX-8 driver since late January: '04 Nordic Green GT w/o spoiler, usually around downtown Pgh, Squirrel Hill, or Oakland.

I've seen a Ti Grey parked at CMU, a Yellow driving up Forbes, and just today at lunch, a Red downtown. A couple of weeks ago I traded waves with someone headed down Rt 28. Oh, and I saw a silver this past weekend, but that was in Palm Springs, CA.

Re: "Arrest Me Red," the green seems all-but-invisible to anyone who doesn't know about the 8, or isn't otherwise into cars. It gets plenty of attention from those in the know, though.:D
