I'd pay $5. I also think the biggest issue was the 300+ cars. It's just way too many in one location for such a short period of time. Most of the car shows I go to don't have that many and I still don't get to see all of them. Night time was cool, but made it very difficult to see anything in that dark lot. For those of us who are interested in looking at the cars as well as the atmosphere, I would suggest having the event start earlier in the day then end up leaving later into the night. Just some thoughts.

I don't think they would right? Wouldn't that make them liable for everything that goes on in the parking lot?

My next local event will have police detail and it will be payed for by sponsors, I want to keep this free for everyone coming to the show.

45 comments is nice, I'm going to send it to Jordan's today (1 week after the meet).

For one, this was a meet not a show. A car show hints towards judging, awards, and a fee to show your vehicle. This was put together in hopes it would be relaxed and people would just get a chance to talk cars.

I've tried this on the weekend before, 20 cars showed up. When you schedule it on the weekend you compete with other shows and people's personal plans. One reason we got such high numbers was because it was after work/school and during the week. The first one started at 7:30pm and we didn't get much light before everyone showed up. I put up 5:30pm for this one so people could come early when there was plenty of light.

Understandable. Though I've put together a Mazda only event and had over 40 cars show on a Saturday, so I'm sure that could still work out for many people. Here's the link to the event. https://www.rx8club.com/ne-rx-8-forum-29/cape-cod-run-spring-2008-a-143240/

Sounds good for next time Taylor, though honestly I'd pay the 5$ too. As long as we get a BBQ or something too. :3 Good times.
