Meat market sounds good John. I am gonna cook up some venison steaks too, if anyone wants some.
We'll talk later in the week, once I find out how many people are coming.

The shop charged be about 600 for the whole day. I supplied the shocks, bar and brake fluid. They supplied the oil, tranny fluid. It took them all day. The shocks took a lot of time to figure out.
I'm a little worried about the rear setting. I keep bottoming out on even minor bumps. Hell's gonna break loose if I hit a pothole.

That might be a very bad sign. You shouldn't be any lower to the ground. Shocks don't change your height. So you should most definitely not be experiencing any difference regarding hitting bumps. The idea that you would bottom out because of shocks is... well... it just shouldn't happen. However if they didn't compress your springs correctly when installing your shocks it's possible that you are sitting entirely too low. Put your two 8s next to each other an make sure the rear is sitting the same. If they fucked up demand that they fix it AND give you back some cash.
600 for brakes/tranny/shocks/etc. isn't surprising. Kinda bullshit to call it an all-day job since it's an all-day job for ME and I don't have access to air tools but all-in-all not a surprising amount. I assume they didn't provide a breakdown.

I'm gonna talk with them about the bottoming out feeling. I'm not sure exactly what is wrong. Maybe I'm just feeling stiffness. But it does't seem right.
I'm gonna be at the test n tune training all day today, so I should get some feel for the changes.

I think Doc originally said 730 for a start or something because he had to go pick up the kids or something. And normally we end up breaking up at like 11 or so...but who knows how long it will take Brian to fix my brakes after Ryan screws the up. :P

I had to reset the car OBD Codes - Check engine light came on with a crankshaft sensor error code. Apparently 60 miles an hour backwards in a circle, in a stall, a couple times will upset the poor little sensor............Go figure? Zoom-zoom

FREAKISHLY Fast
Morning in the rain was horrible.
Eric hopped in my car in the afternoon and drove my car at 34.4. I finished the afternoon with 2x 34.5!!!!!! Not just did it, but reproduced it!
I learned a TON about braking and using the brakes to turn. Unfortunately the learning experience involved multiple high speed reverse spins. The Russian judge gave me a 9.9!!! Several other cars sustained some significant damage. Lots of dents and broken air dams. Fortunately, I came out OK.
I seriously have never driven that fast in my life. Maybe not the highest speed, but spine tingling, white knuckle FAST in a turn!!!!
I just hope I can carry it over and read it next AX.

I'm sure you will Doc. Sounds like a great experience getting ~20 runs on your car and perfectly timed for you with the alignment and the new shocks/sway bar. Now you can really start to dial it in and just continually work on winning these things.
Saw an RX8 on my way up to tailgate on Sunday. Looked like a velocity red that had been taken care of pretty well. Had a vanity plate (Vivir 1 or something like that). Made me pretty sad since I was driving my Exploder.
Sigh. Ony a little more than a month left. Oh well. Get my wheels on tomorrow and the shocks/springs/alignment next Monday.

Yes, One of the things I learned was how to read some of the tire pressure issues. We played quite a bit.
I'm going to be switching to better tires now. I tore up the set I was on. So I think I've learned how to adjust them. Most importantly WHY you adjust them. I just need to find the new starting point.
The alignment was HUGE.
It's nice to have some confidence again. (Hope I can perform) I got really frustrated for a while this summer. But there's hope now!
Anybody going to Lakeland Sunday?

Me. Possibly.
I am "financially challenged" at the moment, though, so my ability to make a showing is subject to change at any second.
On a different note:
Anyone interested in a panel saw setup? It's taking up space in my tiny garage and I'd really like to get it out of there. I'm open to offers.

I think my garage might qualify as a 3/4 car garage.....3/4 of the car won't fit in it . Seriously, though, it's really small. Good for Henry Ford and his model A, not good for Tony's RX8.
Now that I think about it, the panel saw might be able to be disassembled. Not small enough to fit in a closet or anything, but certainly enough to squeeze it into a basement for temporary storage. Or, better yet, go buy a piece of plywood to put on it, put it in the kid's room, and tell them it's a giant easle. What do ya think Jon??

Unfortunately I've got an Advanced Cardiac Life Support class to take on friday, so I won't be attending the cookout.
I apologize that I haven't made it to the past couple meets. I do feel bad that I've been absent lately. It's just been really really busy around here as I'm trying to balance two jobs along with my class schedule.
I'll try to make it on Sunday. I'd really like to go since it would be the last event for me for the season. We'll see how the ball rolls.

Hard to say for sure... have to start narrowing it down:
Does the CEL come on or flash just before it stalls?
Do you have an aftermarket pulley?
Have you checked the alternator?
Do you notice any electrical issues like lights dimming or the power steering going out?
Do you encounter rough idles even with the A/C off?
How many miles are on your car and when did you change your spark plugs?
Do you have the latest flash?

Worth noting here but if you plan on driving your 8 in the Winter and have not purchased Winter Tires... HURRY.

Well, with any luck, I will be coming up friday to Doc's.
John, I'll bring the 3M clear bra for your enjoyment.
Rude question, but do you think you guys will be able to help with the midpipe if the lift is installed and working?
I haven't had time to get my hands on any of that PB Blaster stuff you told me about. With the condition those bolts are in, I am a little afraid I'm getting in over my head.
I already have my Blizzaks! (on 17x7 rims)
Who else drives their 8 through the winter?
