I saw like 12 deer last week! Maybe we can catch one and eat it tomorrow.

Does anyone have thoughts on the car show this year? I went last night and I am really interested to hear what some of you thought about it...

The autoshow was "better" than the last couple years. It was good to see that the auto industry has started to recover; however, I was surprised to see some companies still not be there. The Mazda and Subi folks were super aggressive while other companies were not to be found.

Is this group still going to the autoshow at all? I planned on going last saturday, but did not.

I'd like to go this weekend if there is any interest?

I have not gone yet this year, but have gone every year for as long as I can remember. Last couple years seemed pretty brutal, putting me on the fence about going this year. On the other hand, it does seem like the domestics have really kicked it up a notch in appearance and innovation in the last year, so maybe I will be surprised.

I would be interested in hearing some of the improvements you guys might have seen. Any exciting concepts? C7 vette released yet? Z28? Cool technologies? Or any new must see vehicles.

i was so disappointed in it last year i almost asked for my money back when i walked out. No desire to go this year.

The boat show on the other hand is always fun. Just wish they would hold it later than the beginning of Feb, lol. But i can understand why... they want people to buy now and be ready for when spring hits.

Jon, the guage pod and guages are in, so don't forget to bring the adhesive.

So I was working on my 8 today...yes yes, I got enough **** about it on FB already today...to get my cat reinstalled so I could run it up to Mazda for more maintenance...WEEEEEEEEEEEEE. Ran into a couple of issues.

1) The nut for the one shoulder bolt is tightened down so tight that it removed the shoulder bolt instead of the nut when I tried to take it off. Anyone know of where I can get some new ones at a reasonable price and what size I need?

2) When putting everything back together I was unable to get one of the bolts for the front cross-member to even start threading. Can I borrow someones tap&die set for a short bit? I know I don't need the bolt, let alone the cross-member...but I'm one of those folks that believes Mazda might have put it there for a reason so why not leave it on.

My public service announcement: Drive slow tomorrow. They're gonna be all over the place.

Cannot wait to get her out of the garage. The F150 is killing me at the pump. I hope I don't get swallowed up by a pot hole though.

Pot hole dodging makes for a good time considering the superior handling we have...It is a bit annoying that I will be leaving for a cruise in the Caribbean while it will be semi nice driving weather when I am having major driving withdraws.

2) Swapped the bolt with a different one on the crossmember and both went in fine. *shrug* Stupid bolts.

got mine out finally last night. was intent on only washing, vacumming and detailing the inside. Put the battery in and started her. she didnt want love and care... she wanted to be ridden hard. so, ona whim i called my insurance guy and he answered! (it was 730. gotta love State Farm) he reinstated the insurance and i was kissing the wife and baby bye and was blazing concrete.

Going from the CRV to the 8... well, like i just told my brother 10 min ago, was like going from doing the wife to getting a horny 18 year old strung out on ecstacy.

good times.

Sold the boat last weekend so I've been on summer tires for two weeks.

Someone here mentioned using Tax Day as a general rule. It seems to be true the last couple years. Except for that one year when the schools declared a snow day in April.

My rule is "1 week after you actually put them on."

It's not just about snow. It's about the rubber compound. The street tires are performance compound and do not grip as well as the snow tires at 30 degree temps. I keep the snows on until you are getting generally 50 degree weather for your days.

Hey everyone

I'm new to the site so I figured I'd come say hi lol.
Owned my 8 since last July.
I'm from Canton and was wondering if you guys ever meet up?
I also want to put my car on a track this year with some nice turns and a long straight lol.
Know any?
