I got a weird CEL a "P0300 - random misfire" and a big cloud of smoke out the exhaust. I was at a stoplight and the car was well warmed up. Happened once and that was it. Any ideas? Maybe some bad gas (I had 1/4 of a tank of Get-n-Go premium in there)? Or maybe because of no CAT? Or just one of those things....

Sounds like everyone had a productive 8 weekend. I'm getting the urge to do a clay bar treatment some weekend soon.....and get those loud winter tires off too.....must almost be spring!

I just checked the 10 day forecast. Over Freezing for the lows for everyday but today. (Drops to 33 for the low on March 17th though). Gotta get my 8 finished up!

As for the mis-fire. . . eh, it happens sometimes. If it doesn't do it again and everything appears to be ok, I would let it go. Was it blue smoke or white smoke or Black smoke?

Well, I got the RX-8 out of the IX Center safely last night. Took her to work this morning, still covered in all kinds of vinyl. You should have seen the looks I was getting from people on the turnpike.

Steve- Did the donor have a cargo tray in the trunk?
Figure with all the dirty tools I carry to installs, it'll be worth it to get one of those.
I still have to clean the carpeted area in my trunk since it still smells like coolant.

I'll probably look into my passenger side window issue this weekend.
I forget who had the experience with removing the door trim on the donor's car, but to get the inner garnish piece off (that holds the tweeter), did you just pull that straight out and disconnect the tweeter?

No cargo tray in the donor. I can hook you up with new trunk carpet though.

And from the look of the door tweeter/sail panel. Its just a clip, no screws. So yank away. (Pull straight away from the door)

OK... I'll take it.

Anyone clean their headliner and if so what did you use?
Mine has a few greasy/dirty fingerprints on them that has settled for some time.

Wait. . . you're worried about cleaning your car?

As a shot in the dark, I'd try oxyclean. I've seen that stuff do wonders.... seems to be gentle. I have some finger prints on my A-pillars and stuff from dirty hands too.

The dirt doesn't bother me as much as the smell

OK... we have a tub of that stuff.
Had to use it on the carpet while I was dissecting the calipers.
Of cause the fluid dripped out of the brake line on the one spot I didn't lay down the plastic.
Oxyclean got it right out no problem!

Well, I got everything buttoned up under my hood tonight. Decided to put the new coils in and put the old set up on the 'bay.

Getting excited to swap my daily drivers for awhile.

Awesome...
I might be getting a used cargo tray from James (G3tR3DDY2GR3DDY).
He said he has one, but was "hacked-up" for his carPC.
I asked for pics and price, so we'll see if its worth it to get used instead of paying $60 new (remember... I'm cheap).

Took my car in to Montrose today for my maint. and they complained that my air filter was too dirty and questioned if it was OEM or not. wtf???Anywho...they didn't swap my tranny fluid and said they would do that on my 90K mile checkup. So...ermmm...yea...gonna do that when I put the midpipe on. Redline MT-90...right Jon? How much do I need to buy?

I know how that goes...

Anyone happen to be free either tomorrow or next Tues to help me with the midpipe and tranny fluid?

It's kewl Jon...my Sunday's are shot for like a month. Unless we can somehow magically get it all done before like 1 again. I figured the tranny fluid would take a bit though.
