That bolt was going to break anyway... it did break twice if I recall correctly.

On the down side of things, I'm sitting here at work with my ankle all wrapped up debating on if I should go to the ER. I may have broken my ankle at hockey tonight. Don't worry though, I was still able to use the clutch, which leads me to believe its nothing - but not being able to put weight on it leads me to believe its messed up.

Also, I have seen this 8 a few times driving on Southway st and rt 30 when I come and check on the night shift... Its dark which I thought could be shinka... any Massillonians seen this random 8?

Most bolts break if turned hard the wrong way
I'm only messing with ya.

Sorry to hear about that.
Do you have any bruising or tingling/numbness around your ankle?
Does the skin on top of your foot look bluish or feel cold?

If you're able to walk on it (even though it hurts) and you can operate your clutch pedal with it, I doubt its actually broken.
You probably just sprained it.

I turn bolts the wrong way all the time and they never break... maybe your car is a lemon.

As for my foot. I agree - Its probably fine. Who needs doctors anyway... I may be able to score some heavy duty pain killers though.

That was pretty sad when a 2nd bolt broke after tapping out a new hole where you broke the original.
I'll probably revisit that with some grade 8 bolts later.
The manifold will break before that bolt will

Now why couldn't you break your exhaust bolts that easily?
Oh well... I'm glad you're happy with your mid-pipe (just not the cat-back from what I hear).

You never said whether you bought the straight pipe from RB or a resonated pipe. I think they only advert the straight one but I can't imagine you'd be OK cruising around with that.

I can't really disclose the terms of the early release.

you wouldn't kick a guy on crutches, would you?

And since my bolts rusts instantly, you probably wouldn't be able to steal the pipe off my car unless you have some sort of laser beam cutting device on your watch.

Out in that area I know of my car, that modded BB auto owned by some dude that works at Lowes, and a VR owned by a 40 something year old lady. So is it Red, white or black?

Well, Jon found a previously enjoyed lower intake manifold that I purchased last night. So - sometime this summer will be the labor intensive project of moving most of the auxillary engine systems and lowering or raising the engine to remove the intake manifold. Should be a fun one.

Still torn on the exhaust... after much youtube research, I've determine that youtube sucks.

I'm still waiting to hear how the final turbo install went.

Doc: what have you been up to? Other than spending long lonely nights wondering where your license plate frame is.

I like it!

So now on for the stupidness. You guys know how well I am with cars so this shouldn't shock you at all I don't think. I have been trying to get my airbox open all afternoon so I could remove those two flaps in there. However...I can't get the stupid lid to open more than a 1/2". What am I doing wrong?

There are a shitload of grommets holding that thing down. My advice? Unplug your maf and that green plug from the airbox, unscrew the flexible pipe and just pull the entire assembly out. Makes I really easy to play with then.

Vyn: As for the turbo: I was actually able to get it out and drive it. However, thanks to my build date, I found I have the Mazda R flash on my ecu. No big deal really, but it means the car is running stupidly rich, think 9:1 or lower AFR. So I am keeping it garaged until I can fix that, which should be in a couple days once a perform the GReddy fix #3. I'm also planning on picking up an AEM intake from Charles during his sale he has coming up, so I anticipate the car should be running good around next week or so. It just sucks because I can tell that my 8 wants to go, and wants to go bad.

Wish I could help ya out John, but I've never had the stock airbox installed on my car that I was aware of... i'm sure you're just missing some tabs on the bottom of the box or something like that.

Anyone have some extra cash laying around and live in eastlake? Putting this back together would probably be pretty fun.
