I would say always barring an accident on 77. Traffic for 77N gets lighter after 18 during Akron's not-very-busy-rush-hour while 18 tends to still be pretty heavy until you get to where it goes to 55. Ghent rd. is basically the last stop for Akron workers.

I'm passing through fairlawn around 5.15 on wednesday, and around 6.15 on thursday... I get off 77 at route 18 to head over to 71 N to go to berea for class.
If you do want to meet up then, let me know, but you have to be there early or on time... I am late to class enough as it is.

I can meet you at 77 and 18 on Wednesday and get Ryan and my pedals. You've got my number. Give me a heads up about 25 minutes before you get there and I'll meet you.

Ryan, I can get yours to you anytime after.

I'm bringing my pit crew with me though, just to be sure your feet stay where they're supposed to!

So once again I'm left with a bitter taste in my mouth dealing with BHR........
So my last package arrived at 6:00.... and Yulia tells me its just the flywheel!
USPS delivered my coils and bearings.
FedEx delivered my ACT counterweight.
UPS just delivered my flywheel.
NOBODY delivered by clutch kit!

This might be my last time dealing with BHR

Wow. That sucks. And really I'm pretty surprised. I'm not really a fan of how BHR as a whole works and acts on the forum but the times I've dealt with him Ray has been great at shipping. I wonder if he's having other people ship now for him and isn't handling it directly?

Ray told me that his whole-sellers are shipping everything.

Ok. That explains all the confusion but would seem to indict Ray. The only things I've had shipped he had in stock.

I truly hate the way the aftermarket auto industry works. It seems that no one keeps things in stock, they all sell from the same wholesellers, and all the wholesellers blow chunks.

I decided a long time ago to only order things that are in stock. Since I did that I've been happy regardless of who I buy from.

BHR seems like a nice bunch of intelligent guys. People where if I lived near them I would hang out with them. However...I have never really heard anything good about any reseller in the auto industry. Nobody is willing to take the risk to have parts in case some fad dies out and eat the cost. In the end customer service suffers and so should their business. However, without any options as a buyer you either live without or get treated like ****. It is like the cellular and cable industries in that respect. They have you over a barrel and know it and like the ****.

Keep in mind, if items are being shipped from the wholesaler, BHR can't really do anything about what happens. They can stop using said wholesaler i guess but if there are only a couple to choose from, they will not take the more expensive ones.

I've never purchased anything from BHR but if there's a problem which is beyond their control, you can't rightfully hold them responsible.

Yes you can. That's just silly. Their entire purpose for being is to facilitate a sale of a product from a wholeseller/manufacturer and a customer. The reason people use them instead of going direct is for reduced cost and improved service.

In the end it is not 'beyond their control' who they use, how they manage a transaction, and what kind of service they deliver to their customers when issues do occur. If he told Jon up front that he didn't have those items in stock, that he wouldn't be shipping them directly, and that the people who would be shipping directly are generally incompetent then Jon likely would have avoided purchasing the product from BHR.

And them losing customers because they did a crappy job with this is very much the market effect of the system.

i think i misworded what i meant. My thoughts are, to give them a chance to make it right. yes they should be ultimately accountable since they are the service / product provider. If they are willing to immediately make things right, that says something for BHR's customer service. If they are just throwing their hands in the air and saying "oh well, cant help ya"... then yeah, i'd not deal with them again.

As a shipper of items, some of which are drop shipped, I think Banned's comments are accurate.

It really doesn't matter if the items come USPS, UPS, FedEx. Or even if they come separately.

What seems to be missing here, is some accountability and mostly communication.

For every item I ship, even if it is drop shipped, I provide shipping and tracking information. Frankly, it's also to my benefit, as it keeps customers from emailing me all the time asking where their orders are.

In the end, yes, BHR is responsible. Then, his dropshippers are responsible to him.

My personal experience with BHR has been more of disorganization than anything else. Hey,

BTW - Random thing I saw last night on Craigslist. Apparantly you can get titanium tig welding wire for what appears relatively cheap:

http://cleveland.craigslist.org/tls/1026947441.html

Does that feed into what you were thinking of doing to fix your exhaust, Jon?

On the topic of my starting issue......
Another change that was made that I forgot about was using MazdaManiac's base map with the AccessPort.
There are only minor things different between his base map and a standard stock map.
While I install my clutch, I'll install my stock map and see what happens.

Flashwing is working with me on the clutch kit shipment issue.

I'm off to pick up my pedal and drop one of my tires off for repair.
The tire is slowly leaking air.

Hey maybe those stupid social group things they added to the forum work. Jangle ( https://www.rx8club.com/members/jangle-17833/ ) just joined. I'll see if I can get him back into this thread.

Just installed my clutch pedal, uninstalled the AP, and took the car out to the car wash.
The car appeared to start better with the AP uninstalled, but you could tell it still struggled (which it did last year too).
I also think the gas smell isn't as potent with the AP uninstalled than with the MM base map.
So I'll probably do my "street tune" tonight or tomorrow.

Thanks again Steve for helping us out with the clutch pedal bracket.
I truthfully can't say I feel a difference, but like I mentioned before, if you do feel a difference with the pedal assembly welded, then your pedal was probably weak at that stress point.
Doc's had some signs of stress so it'll be interesting to hear what he thinks.
Also, when installing the clutch pedal assembly, have the fork and push rod already installed to the pedal (like Ryan unintentionally did).
It'll make it a little easier to guide the push rod in while aligning the four bolts.
