I'm sure the schooling will will be epic, at least in my case. I'm half considering pulling the power steering fuse and running ***** in. Maybe I can set some kind of record for the most cone pickups ever...

I honestly wouldn't expect to see 16. I can't think of any gathering where everyone that said they were coming showed up. I would imagine 10 will probably be there, but I doubt 16 will actually show up.

Tech inspection is at 8am but it probably won't start until 9:30 or so. It won't be hard to meet up, you should be able to find us pretty easily, it's not a very large place.

Also anyone whose car is broken or too delicate for autocross use is welcome to use mine.
If you aren't running on the event cause youre afraid you'll suck, that's like not lifting weights cause you're afraid you'll be weak. EVERYONE SUCKS AT FIRST! Gotta start somewhere, doesn't hurt to try, and there will be lots of experienced folks to coach you.
I am much excite!

I'm still not sure about running my car... it takes fat arms to turn hard and sharp and even still I'm worried about something breaking as the u-joints/shaft are probably not designed to take the amount of force required to manually turn the wheels...

I was sorta saying I might show up in the BRZ but not likely, now that my car isn't exhibiting any glaring faults I'm quite happy with it again. I'm going to put those racing beat oil lines on order soon and then she'll be a wash and wax away from perfection
Oh and I like that my weightlifting analogy was followed by your power steering woes haha I was thinking 'sweet two birds with one stone for John, Autocross and getting Swoll'
Anyone who just wants to watch, we run the event on the lower lot, the one that isn't divided by a concrete island. The paddock area is the lot in front of the stadium entrance across from the graveyard that Chris will be reanimate nag with his turboXS exhaust. The paddock area would be a good place to park if you're just spectating.
Very excited, looking forward to meeting the new folks!

Hey guys,
I'm planning on coming up to watch the autoX events, but I'm afraid I can't make the BBQ. I should be there pretty early - it takes me over an hour to get there so I want to make it worth my while.
Also, big thanks to Jon again for helping me with the car tablet install. It took a couple sessions to get the Nav hood working properly again, but everything turned out great. Really hope you can get the power steering issues worked out...

Well I'm glad you can at least make the Autox... Power steering is not going to be working but I am going to run anyways. I took it out for a spin last night to see how it does turning at higher speeds and to be honest if you are turning in at 40+ it's really not even particularly noticeable.
Also can I get a role call on who is planning on bringing any food? And if so do you want to stop by before hand and put any of it in the fridge at my place?
Hey Denim are you still coming? I feel like I haven't heard anything from you in a while?
Looking forward to seeing/meeting everyone!

Sadly, I have not even had a chance to set up a time where I can hand the Shinka over to Jay for a couple of days. My hope was to have wheels & ZII's bought/installed along with the Spec-D's that have been sitting in my office for a couple weeks now, for Sunday, but with so much workload, the opportunity to get it done hasn't happened yet.
Meeting our fearless leader Nate The Great at Panera Bread early Sunday morning and we are rolling in via convoy.

ALSO... the parking situation should be fine, the parking out back is mostly cleared out but they haven't actually towed anyone so I'm sure it will be fine.

So I can't believe this... I was looking at the roster and it looks like only 2 FRS/BRZ??
More RX-8's than Twins? That is just crazy talk.
Also just in-case anyone isn't aware, you have to be there in the morning for tech inspection regardless of what heat you are in.

Ha you must have the sun roof, I have a hard time driving Chris' car with my helmet on for that reason. I'm going out with my lovely Wife and some friends tonight so I hope to be bright eyed and bushy tailed in the morning. It's hard to autocross out of a single bloodshot eye!
I think I'm going to not bring anything with me and trust that Frederick is civilized enough to have a store where I can buy whatever is lacking.
Oh, one of the FRS on the roster is Josh Adams' FRS which is about the finest driving machine I've ever experienced. He and I codrive it at the last CDC event and were 5th and 6th on index and we were over a second quicker than the next twin. It's a HUGELY impressive car and none of us has a snowballs chance in hell of beating it! Just putting that out there!
Dudes I am so excited, I love this ****.
