A MILLION THANKS TO EVERYONE WHO TOOK PART IN THIS!

The video is *done*. I've been on this non-stop since I got back *grin*

It's 9:39 minutes long, ~220MB for full quality (720x480), ~70mb for low quality (428x240).

I'll find someplace to upload it soon, right now if anyone from the run wants it just catch me on MSN messenger (mendonet at removemethisisspambait hotmail dot com) and I'll send it to you thru messenger file transfert.

really awesome run! I will post some pics later.

If anyone needs hosting space, send me a PM, I have about 300MB I can provide.

the official end point was west lebanon, nh, at about 6:30pm, but then some of us went to grab some dinner and ice cream, so we hung around until 8:30.

I was actually stopped and asked a few questions at that checkpoint. I'm not an American citizen, but I have a green card, so when the officer asked me my nationality I said Filipino. He immediately asked for my green card, which I didn't have on me. So when I told him it was at home, next to my passport, he proceded to lecture me saying that I should have it with me at ALL TIMES because as a "visitor" in this country if I didn't have it with me I'd be considered an "illegal immigrant". After asking me several other questions I quickly apologized. Minutes pass and other cars go by easily, but after a few tense moments he stared me down, sighed, then hesitantly let me go.

I just found it odd that he expected me to have my green card with me and he didin't even ask for my driver's license. I will never carry that card with me on a daily basis because if I lose it or my wallet gets stolen, i'd have a bigger problem.

Sorry to hear you had a tough time getting home. This country is messed sometimes!

Wanted to let you know that DRK was able to get all four of the wheels we bought in my back seat, so I can your two to you whenever you'd like. He put them in the boxes his new wheels came in, so it won't get your seats dirty. PM me and let me know what day & where you'd like me to bring them to you.

So is this the movie trailer?? Thanks for doing that, looks great! Will be in contact about getting the full version.

It was great meeting you, Natalie, and everyone else who made it! For those who didn't make it, it sounds like we may do this again next year. Everyone had such a good time! And boy, did we drive, and drive, and drive!! It was great!!! (I believe Giles car is ok - will post more on that tomorrow.)

Mike had a great time and enjoyed meeting everyone, although he did go to . I prefer that to , however!

Once again, nice job DRK! Hope you didn't scare Tanya off from joining us again!

thank you Rx Eight 7s for being a great host!

put 714 miles on the car this weekend. I'm sure others have beat though (at least Chris from Plymouth).

I posted a link to my gallery of pics to the pics thread.

Definitely the best meet I've been a part of so far. And I even got a cop story myself at the end of the post.

Day 1 was alright, the afternoon had some NICE roads but the weather kept us cautious and made everything look bland. Day 2 more than made up for it though!

Mazdax605, what happened to your 8? Btw you kept up pretty nicely with the "landmark."

So I was driving back from Lebanon and I take route 2 east in MA, not knowing that it's a slow *** 1 laner all the way. I drive a constant 65-70 with the speed limit at 55. Then the limit suddenly goes to 40 as I use the passing lane to zoom past 2 SUVs. Half a mile later lights flash from the opposite side and I spotted them right away in my rearview mirror. A cop was puling in and zoomed past the 2 SUVs I had passed not long ago. So I'm next, he comes over and tailgates me, I'm looking for a safe spot to pull over thinking how, after 1000+ miles of driving, I had to get a ticket 30 min away from my destination. So I start signaling right, find a dirt patch on the side of the road, and cop ZOOMS PAST ME. I was convinced he was pulling me over because the timing was so perfect for him and I knew I was going 20 miles over. Half a mile later I saw a fire truck down the road too so I figured he had better things to do. Took me 2.5 hours to get to work from Lebanon which is what I expected.

Great run, all and it was nice to meet ya! I have some pics too and I'll post them as soon as I get them. I can't wait to see some video too. The Sunday twisties were amazing and I think the g's are still in my head. I swear my car was airborn for a second and on some of the wavy roads it felt like I was taking off in an airplane. Not to mention a couple of super twisty turns where the tires were at the limit and one wrong move would've sent me off a cliff.

I had my 04 Base model 6 speed in Nordic green mica for 1 year.I leased it for 2 years, but had a guy in Greenwich CT assume the lease from me through swapalease.com because we were buying a bigger house, and the 8 was just a toy.I will get another one someday, and it will be Whitewater Pearl. Thanks for the great time guys.

That stinks.....when the officer was asking me questions like, "where are you from?".....I bit my tongue because I wanted to say, "none of your damn business"....that wouldn't have been good tho. Maybe you could keep a copy of your card in your wallet?? Maybe that would help...

Wow....I'm glad I broke off when I did.....took me 6 hours to get home, but when I arrived there was a beautiful rainbow above my house.

Thanks to all of you for a great time! Even in the rain, the drive was great on Saturday once we got into the Adirondacks. Those roads east of Ausable and through Vermont were AWESOME, with the exception of Lincoln Gap, of course. As I said at the time, I would have loved that road if I was about to trade in my car. I feel for the S2k.

We have pictures that we will host on webshots when we get home tonight. We'll make it public and post the link here.

Right now, we are in Stowe and have a great day if driving ahead to get back to Portland. We saw three "SmartCars" on the road into Stowe yesterday and one of them had a sticker for a SmartCar club. I think they were doing the same thing as us, just being more "smart" about it. LOL.

Looking forward to the videos!

It was two solid days of fun - I started my drive at 5:30 on Sat morn, and finished it off at 11 on Sun night when I got back home.

Great Job and a big Thank You Darksyde for putting this run together. It was loads of fun and had an awsome time on the twisties, and the dirt tracks!!! Well managed and well delegated - Kudos to you!!!

Rx Eight 7 - it was a real nice touch having us over for lunch. Your pad is a great place to hang out/party at!!! :-)

...and can't say enough about the navigator for finding the routes that we took - if not for the "paper" maps, the GPS units would surely have taken us on comparatively staid routes.

A wonderful group of people we had on this run - a great group to hang out with!!!

Can't wait for the next Run!!!

What a fantastic run and great people. I had a great time and it was really nice not to be the organizer or the leader/tail for most of the run! Having worked on a number of runs the past 3-4 years, I can tell you these are NOT easy to do! I give high praise to all that contributed! For a first time run this went really smoothly!

I must also appoligize for not suggesting an alternate route then the Lincoln Gap, I hadn't really looked at the directions before the run and just went with it when I was promoted to lead that morning. There is a second gap that is a lot of fun about 5 miles up from the one we were on... it is a bit longer path but with great curves and entirely all smooth pavement... That is the gap I have traditionaly done in the past and I think DRK will probably alter the route to include it next year. The Lincoln gap is a lot of fun and beaultiful, but it is not for anyone lower then stock, and I'm afraid it took the winter really poorly this past year It was much better last year when a few of us took it after the spring run.

I wish the best to the s2000, he was fun to have along and I hope he will join us again next year... with special care noted on the road selection for those with only a few inchs to spare!

We really had a lot of fun on this run.We felt at home even though we are so much different from the RX-8 demographic. We are not techies,or heck even college grads, but you guys made us feel at home.We thought we wouldn't fit in well at first, with our stick-in-the-mud-minivan-driving-non-party-animal-selves,but that wasn't the case at all.Dinner at Jimmys was great, and hanging with CTRX8,and his family made us feel great with us having kids about the same age. This was a nice getaway weekend from the kids even though we missed them so much.We really needed this away time, and it was spent with a great group of people.

Maybe the next time we can figure out a way to bring our rug-rats,but I don't know how they will fit in the 7 even with the rear seats. Thanks again, and keep the pics coming.

it was nice hanging out with you too although next run we will be there sans kids. as nice as it was to have them with us it was just too much and this will be their one and only run until they're old enough to really appreciate it.

Thank you - all - for your concern for Giles. He wanted me to pass along that he had a fantastic weekend with a fantastic bunch of people. He waited over a year for the custom body kit to come in, paid top dollar to have it painted to a perfect match, and you can measure in months how long it's been on the car, so he was heartbroken when he bottomed-out on the gap. He wanted me to assure you that he is ok, the car is ok (nothing that can't be fixed!), and he had an awesome time! He will definitely join us again!

Again, thanks for your concern and well wishes. We really enjoyed the company, the food, and the driving! Look forward to driving with some of you again soon!

Fantastic run. Thanks again to DRKSYDE and RX Eight 7s for organizing this and hosting lunch on day1!

Here's the route we followed as best as I can remember:
http://maps.google.com/maps?f=d&hl=e...4&t=h&z=8&om=1

I didn't enable my GPS' track log until we were well into the 2nd day and I'm unsure of some of the exact roads near Bennington and Saratoga Springs, NY. I remember we got on Route 279, but I don't know where... it was a relatively new bypass that wasn't on my GPS or map. Lincoln Gap ended up being too rough and unfortunately it didn't go well on our suspension or the S2000's body kit But otherwise the route was a hell of a lot of fun.

I've got 500+ photos to sift through (that my buddy took with his DSLR). I'll have some posted tonight or tomorrow.
