Hey guys,

I just started getting back on the boards and saw this thread. Sounds like a great run. If there's room for more I'll Try to get in on it. Still don't have my 8 out of storage yet, this last snow storm ended up with a ton of salt on the roads.

come on out. as you can see from some of the recent posts you'll want to figure out the hotel situation sooner rather than later.

Bob! Get your butt out here! Luckily for us up here in NH, they didn't use any salt a little dirt but no salt. Actually for the most part there was very little use of salt this winter at all. I have only had mine out two weeks now.

Really hope to see you attend the run. Please PM your info to Mendossa and dmc27 so they can put you on the spread sheet. Book your hotel now!!!

Shudup.. I got 12.309mpg my last tank ya jerks lol.. the tank before that I got 14.696mpg. Mind you that tank was pretty much 50% highway and me constantly going to my gf's house durring the week. Should see my tips though the inside of them are pure friggin' black after not being cleaned in two weeks.

Got my Nitto Nex Gens today. They are SCHAWEET. Can't wait to use them! Also they seem like a very light tire but I may be imagining things.

Tops I am getting is 260 - 265 for about 12.5 gallons. I have to admit, thats only flooring it once or twice....I think last tank I did that up to 110mph from 30 twice and once I hit 110 I slowed down to 70 and hit the cruise in 6th.

Dude! Are you really serious?! I hate to do this to you, but I just got my personal best on this last fill up. 289.6 miles on 12.5 gallons = 23.168.

The only reason I ask is because I only drove for 8 miles on the highway at 70mph. Everything else was around town and cruising on secondary roads at 55mph. I even got on it quite a few times this last tank! I don't understand it Kev.... I'm really sorry you are getting that man.

Cruising secondary roads at 55mph is the best gas mileage. My best tanks were putting around in holiday traffic at 45-60mph

YEah, I don't mean to turn this to a mpg thread but like I said, I made the tachometer beep at me at LEAST half a dozen times or so this last tank. I could have made it over 300 since the light had JUST come on. Weird... just weird how these cars are so inconsistent.

kev, should I bring a gas tank in the trunck for the run?

When I had the 8, I was regularly getting 260 out of a tank in the cit and around 300 on the highway...of course, mazda's going to tell you there's nothing wrong with the car, but we all know...

haha.. I love how everyone is like " wtf?! " about my mpg. Its true though my highest EVER was 17.2mpg and that was coming back from my PE/DE trip back up to MA (in the snow mind you!). Recently I've been gaining on my mpg but I've been driving to my Gf's place alot and thats a 5.5mile trip (yes I've recorded the distance hehe). So far since seeing her I've got into double digits again in MPG. The only theory I've been able to come up with is that the ECU runs my engine sooooo damn rich at start up that my drive to work (all 2 miles of it) doesnt give it enough time to lean it out. Maybe one day I'll luck out and see a decent priced scan tool for sale and then hi-jack my girls laptop and see how the inside of my baby is doing.

The Spring run should be intesting though and I'll be recording all my milage per tank(s). Since this is all highway I should be lucky and get around 16mpg. Oh and there is nothing wrong with my baby she's just very damn thirsty bitch
