Yup. DRK had mentioned a Holiday Inn or something, hell, maybe we'll even wake up smarter!

Thanks for putting together the spreadsheet, Mendossa. I sent you a PM with more info, though dmc27 already had it.

I'm surprised the Summit is filled up. I called them before I booked through Travelocity, and they told me they had plenty of available rooms.... that wasn't even a week ago.

Lastly, if anyone coming from CT or western MA wants to caravan up to Brattleboro Sat morning, let me know. I'm near Amherst, MA.

i'm coming from Milford, CT so we can meet up along 91 on the way up if you'd like. my planned route is the Merritt Parkway up to 91 and a straight shot up from there. if there's a better way to get up let me know.

or

Find your name! Now here's how it works:

WHITE BACKGROUND means I'm pretty sure about this info.
GREEN BACKGROUND means it would be nice if you could provide that info. (regarding email & phone, dmc27 is working on it)
RED BACKGROUND is information that is required to make sure everything goes smoothly.
PURPLE BACKGROUND means I'm *suggesting* this as a possibility based on the info I got and would like to know if it's okay with you.

The main thing is to figure out where everyone will meet and at what time, making sure that no one is left behind and that we don't end up looking at our watches on the side of the road wondering where the rest of the pack is! Extra passenger count will be required to make restaurant reservations.

mendossa--

thanks for putting this together. i'd say once all the info is collected we can email it to the group. if anyone objects they can let you know. this way it still stays within this community with phone numbers and email not being published publicly. DRK has my info but if you need me to send it to you for collection on this sheet i can do so.

as for some of the other info, i'm coming from Milford, CT in my Nortic Green 8. i still don't know the meetup point but i think that will depend on which route some of the more southern guys/gals come up to see if i join them or go solo up to meet up with deslock.

Don't worry folks I had no intentions to post the email/phone of those who didn't already make them public. To make it simpler I removed them all (even those posted on the thread like DRKSYDE's) and put "X" in place to indicate that that info has been collected, and I'll simply email the full list to everyone once it's completed.

Also added a note stating that I'm working with dmc27 on this so that those who already sent him contact info don't need to do it again.

I can't remember what it is. He used to live in Maryland and had the top Viper tech in Maryland do some tweaking on it. It is a fun car... amazingly enough, not uncomfortable for my big tall ***. (6'5" - 250 lbs) Tight but not uncomfortable.

I have also driven the original body style Viper with a 750 Hennesey Venom package on it.... Impressive and more horsepower than my buddies, but the new chassis is much more "refined" and responsive.

I have a bunch of little topics in this post...

RADIOS
I dunno how many people here have FRS/GMRS radios, but they're only $15-20 and they come in handy. Cell phone might get spotty up there, and these can come in handy are are well worth it. If you plan to get one, go with a model that supports privacy sub-codes. Some links:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Family_Radio_Service
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/General..._Radio_Service
http://www.walmart.com/catalog/produ...uct_id=5544176
http://www.walmart.com/catalog/produ...uct_id=5173202

Also, I figure when the run happens depending on the exact size of the group and how people want to drive, we'd split the cars up into 2 or 3 groups. We could run in tandem so we'd still be one giant caravan, but each group would have a leader and trailer. The trailer would have directions and make sure no one fell behind or got stuck (and if we get separated due to traffic, we'll be able to regroup more easily). This is where the radios can come in handy.
GPS
Ideally, group leaders/trailers would know the roads up there, be good with maps, or have GPS navigation systems.
HOTELS
Lastly, as far as booking rooms via Travelocity goes, it's possible that these hotels only have a small number of rooms set aside to be booked via websites like that. You can probably also reserve rooms by calling the hotels directly. Here's the one I know a bunch of us are staying at:

Lake Placid Summit
2375 Saranac Avenue
Lake Placid, NY 12946
Telephone: (800) 790-8452 or (518) 523-2587
Fax: (518) 523-0368

I spoke to them before going through Travelocity, and they quoted me $79 per night.

+1 to me just be easier to handle and would let everyone go at their own pace instead of worrying about keeping up and holding people back. Each of us have their own comfort level and style of driving, last thing we'd want is a laid back easy going driver stuck infront of a Masshole like Holy or myself wanting to go faster

As long as we have the same rest stop area's we should be fine and will keep everyone together to a extent, that and if my gf comes gives me a chance to change drivers and also groups at the same time. Slightly freaked her out when I said I wanted her to be comfortable in the car to be driving like she did when she was pissed haha. Nothing sexier than a aggressive woman driver doing 100mph hehe

http://maps.google.com/maps?f=d&hl=e...58946,2.373047

This Link should get you to the latest Route revision. I made a few changes to save some time and to hit some really cool roads based on my personal experience. This is still a work in progress and I am, in no way, trying to force my will on the group. I'm just doing some research and throwing out these changes for the group to review. Comments and suggestions are expected so we can end up with a route that is acceptable for all. I'm just doing the "leg" work and collecting the suggestions.

So, assuming you are able to use the above link, here are my proposed stopping points. These stopping points are represented by addresses (as specific as possible) in the Google map.

1. Bennington, VT at the Hemmings Sunoco station
2. Hannaford Supermarket in Greenwich, NY
3. My house (for lunch) in Corinth, NY
4. Charlie John's Store in Speculator, NY
5. Stewart's Convenient store in Tupper Lake, NY
6. Your Hotel??? in Lake Placid
7. Whiteface Memorial Highway in Wilmington, NY
8. Ausable Chasm in Keeseville, NY
9. Crown Point Bridge State Park in Crown Point, NY
10. JD's Quick Stop in Hancock, VT
11. End of Run in Bethel, VT (meeting place ???)

Each stop leaves approximately 90 minutes of driving before the next stop except Bennington and Tupper Lake. The Bennigton stop is around 1 hour and is for a gas up and to get a feel for how everyone will stay together and working out the kinks/ putting on the comfortable pants/ going to the restroom for those that never listen to their Grandmothers, etc. Plust the Hemmings shop is a pretty cool gas station with a huge parking area in the rear. The Tupper Lake stop is to gas up and only leaves 30 minutes to Lake Placid.

These are just my proposed "Scheduled" stops. If the weather is anywhere near decent I'm sure there will be impromptu scenic/photo-op stops along the way.

Comments Please!!
