10.23.2004 Fall Gtg And Cruise!!!

From VWVortex.com:

WHO: Volkswagen / Audi / WRX / RX8 / SRT4 / EVO Owners.
WHAT: Cruise Through Upper Bucks County and Great Photo-op.
WHEN: Saturday, October 23, 2004 at 10:00 AM. (Rain Date: 10/24/04)
WHERE: Meet: Cornwells-Heights Park & Ride adjacent to I-95.
Drive: Upper Bucks County and Surrounding Roads.
WHY: Another Reason To Clean Your Car and Enjoy The Fall Foliage…

This is spawned from a meet that I attended with the ClubWRX guys last year and it was a lot of fun, so I decided to get another one going. An identical thread will also be posted on the respective websites for owners of non-VW vehicles. It should be an interesting meet…different from our usual VAG-ONLY get-togethers. Show up if you wish. If not, we won’t miss ya!

We’ll start off by meeting in the enormous parking lot of the Cornwells-Heights Park and Ride located just off I-95 in Bensalem Township. (Directions below.) We will hang out for about an hour or so, get some pictures if you so choose, then head out on I-95 North and proceed through the scenic back-roads of Bucks County. We will stop for lunch and end our route at Nockamixon State Park, a great spot for a group photo with a lake and marina as your backdrop.

This is not a cruise / rally to show off and drive recklessly on. It is merely a relaxed drive with spirited moments when traffic and road conditions permit. Some people would naturally like to drive faster than others, but please be respectful of the person in front of you and behind you as their driving styles may not be as spastic or refined as yours.

The route should not take more than a few hours to complete and towards the end, we will stop at a roadside restaurant called Pryzuski’s. It’s just a typical hamburger and hotdog shack that serves up some good food. There are restrooms and indoor seating which is good if it is cold and windy like it was the last time we did this.

DIRECTIONS TO MEETING SPOT:

I’m fairly positive everyone knows where I-95 is. If not, you should not be allowed to operate a motor vehicle. But for those of you who don’t know where the Park & Ride is located, read on…

The Park & Ride is located between EXIT-35 / WOODHAVEN ROAD and EXIT-37 / STREET ROAD (Rt.132). The Park & Ride is accessible from SOUTHBOUND I-95 ONLY and is a LEFT-HAND EXIT!! So for those of you who are coming from Philadelphia and heading north on I-95, you will PASS the Park & Ride and exit at STREET ROAD. Make a left at the top of the exit ramp and make another immediate left back onto I-95 South. Then get in the left lane and approach the exit ramp for the park & ride. If you can’t figure this one out, again, you shouldn’t be driving at all. Its not rocket science.

I hope to see a good turnout for this. The roads we will take are AWESOME. Lots of twisties, dips, and turns. If there is enough interest, we can also stop by Van Sant Airport which is used for glider planes. Its just something cool to watch if the weather permits. If you have any questions, please send me an email to: VDUB113@YAHOO.COM.

Jay.

PS:Drive at your own risk. I will not be held liable for anything that happens. I am merely a participant.
