I don't think your going to have much luck now, if anybody has winter tires they are probably already on the car, and if they store it over the winter and had winter tires, they're probably gone already. Gotta start lookin for deals really early man.

Suprisingly though, there are still winter tires being sold...just none nearby.

I'll probably just keep the 8 in the garage all winter anyways, which is why I'm also open to beaters fr under $500 =). Only requirement is that it runs good w/o any work to it. I don't care how ugly it is...

yea if anyone runs their car in the winter, they have already gotten them on. tirerack can have some good deals, but they sell out quickly (esp with the dump of snow we just got). if you can find anyone selling now, you will probably have to pay shipping from elsewhere.

just dont try to drive on the OEMs ... ask anyone who has and the stories do not have good endings. they turn into hockey pucks.

Haha, what's sad is today I decided to take out the 8 to work since I haven't driven it in 4 days... Well, I get to work and there are no spaces....well..one really tiny one covered in snow and ice after circling the block 4 times. I try parking in it and almost get stuck. My manual abilities aren't exactly great and I would have probably barely been after to get into the spot w/o the ice and snow. Well. I stall it a couple of times and I nearly get stuck. That's when I change my mind and go home to park it in my nice, safe garage and bust out the minivan. Luckily, I only live 3 miles from work, but that little ride cost me over 1/8 my tank!

And, my nice shiny clean car became slightly less shiny and clean.... All in all, a bad day. When I get back to work, I find like 10 spaces.... and I plow through the snow and ice in my fwd....

If I had the option I would be storing mine this winter, but instead I get to be the snowplow again and clear off every road I drive down. You don't realize how low our cars really are until you see every other car on the road clearing the snow fine and your car scraping every inch of it.
