I'm looking to get my transmission rebuilt, as well as some other mods. Anyone know any rotary mechanics near the Madison, WI area?

Deacon only person I know good enough with rotary engines is my buddy Mike Piecko @ Red Mist Automotive in Gilberts, IL. Find me on Facebook: Jake Kaminskis or Jake Kaminskis Racing and I'll get you in touch with him.

It's a bit of a hike but he is a rotary maniac!

Hey Jake - I found his listing through google. Thanks, I'll give him a call! That's only about 1:15 from me, so not all that bad in the grand scheme of things.

So finally had the foam on the dipstick spook for the first time.... man seriously thought something was up internally. Would just be my luck to pay $9500 for this 60k mile car with a slipping clutch to have to do an engine rebuild already.

Anyone in the Racine area looking to chill hit me up!

Finally bit the bullet and ordered the BHR Ignition Kit for the car. She's being a pain and doesn't want to start after winter storage. So I figure if I have to pull the plugs, might as well just upgrade the ignition system. With 60k on the clock when we purchased the car I figured it needed to be done.

I moved back last year, only saw one other all winter. Now its summer i've seen about 4 or 5 around town, one black, one silver, one white with oem lip kit, one red always camped at the same school, and then one blue i embarrassingly flashed down all excited only to find some 60+ year old woman driving.... q.q

Sorry been so busy with life I haven't had much time to get on here. I don't believe you and I have ever met down in K-Town. However if you guys swing down here sometime feel free to hit me up.

I will probably be dropping the trans very soon to swap out the slipping clutch. Trans needs a 4th gear syncro so I know the pain.

Well if you ever want to meet up sometime I may be game. Pretty busy summer with racing and all, but there may be some days we can meet up and chill. I have to do a clutch on my car soon.

Hey guys new owner of a blue 09 R3, absolutely love it! I've always had a fascination with rotary engines and had to have one. Living in the Kenosha area, anyone else around the area know of any people that know how to work on rotary engines? Looking to eventually do some performance upgrades and eventually some aesthetic changes.

I'm going to be learning how to do the basic rebuild over next year. I just purchased my second RX8 3 days ago. The first car is going to be kept nice while this new on will be turned into my future time attack platform.

I live in Racine. One of my neighbors has one as well, and we have yet to meet.

Out of curiosity what did you buy your r3 for? I live in Racine and will be putting my black 09 R3 on the market soon. Don't think what bluebook has them at is accurate.... I saw the one you picked up on Craigslist a month ago, looked super clean! I might be taking anything aftermarket off mine, coils, exhaust, rx duino, have a custom sub box and amp rack...if anyone on here is interested.

I actually got it for 12, came with a second set of rims with blizek winter tires, r.b. ram air duck that isn't installed yet, and a ton of royal purple and oil filters. I actually mite be interested in the custom box and amp rack, you have pics? What size sub is the box for? Also what type of exhaust do you have?

Nice, that's about what I was hoping to get for mine. I have a little more miles (84k)but the engine was replaced by Mazda about 10k miles ago. The box was built for a 12, the amp rack is more a cover for the spot on the trunk floor. My amps are in the recess and the cover makes the floor flush. Waiting to hear from a friend that may want the car the way it is. Should know in a week or so. Exhaust is a racing beat cat back and I have a no name catless mid pipe. Exhaust sounds really nice, not to loud or droning...
