Well, it's car show time again! The car show at Hardees (I-94 and Highway 83) starts this Tuesday @ 5PM. I usually try to make it when I can and would sure like to see some other RX participation. Free soda and a drawing for a free sandwich every hour. Here's a pic from last year.

Speaking of car shows, does anyone in northern wisconsin ever set up a rotary meet?Wausau ocassionally has a car show. It's usually in the Advance Auto or Autozone parking lot and I'm sure you already guessed........it's all f*cking ricers. Beat up hondas about to fall apart but turbo'd, and a handful of domestics that exclusivley shop at Autozone. When you drive past it looks like a section of the Las Vegas strip there's so much neon. Anyways maybe something should be in the works for this summer if there's enough participation. I know there are some Lacrosse and Appleton guys on here.

Pretty good turnout at the show. Only two 8s though One of these day's I'll leave the toddler at home and actually be able to talk to people.

Absolutely. I am sketching out a southern wi scenic drive right now that I hope we can all do at the end of august.

 

Just had a nice evening at the Wednesday Night Classics car show at the Gasthaus restaurant in Waukesha. It was a great weather night with a huge turnout. Here are a couple pics (seems my panorama program didn't work quite right, but you get the idea). Maybe we can get a number of RX's to show up one of these nights!!!

Hey glssetcher, I live right down the road bud. I met another guy out here with a Black 8 as well, but sadly forgot his name (have you down in my phonebook as "RX8", heh). Anyway, we should see about getting everyone in waukesha/milwaukee area together. Have a grill, we should see about having a cookout or something.

August 14/15 ill be down in chicago, but possibly the weekend after that could work if people are down

 

Ok, I am officially announcing the RX-8 Scenic Drive Event. September 18th, 2010. The plan will be start in Madison, WI, then drive to the Rockford IL area, then over to Chicago, up the coast to Milwaukee, then back to Madison.

The starting point will be the IHOP on 151 (E Washington Ave) near I90/94 7:00am. From there, we'll leave for the trip around 8:00am, hopefully arriving in Chicago around noon for lunch. Not sure where we'll do lunch yet, so any suggestions from the Chicago crew would be most welcome! Depart Chicago about 2, head up to Milwaukee, arrival time about 4 for a snack and more meet-and-greet. Then, back to Madison to finish up at Quaker Steak and Lube for wings and other BBQ fun.

The drive will be a mix of interstate, highways, and county roads. We did get these cars to drive, after all. I have a rough idea map located here but it will probably change on whims if we get tired of a road.

Anyone interested?
