I had my first taste of auto X last summer and Im hooked. Definatly going to try and make some of these events.

BTW my 8 is completly stock right now. Im on somewhat of a tight budget (getting married and just bought a house) what are the best bang for your buck upgrades when it comes to road racing?

I agree with Mac, but if your on a tight budget your priority should be pads, brake fluid and seat time. These events get pretty expensive especially when you include a whole weekend plus hotel. It's worth every penny though, good times on the track and great people to hang with.

Hey guys we will have a new addition to our weekends this coming season. her name is Lilliana, hope you don't mind sharing a room with a crying baby

Redshedevil,

Is your house baby proof? If not get to work

I don't mind a crying baby in the hotel room. I've been preparing to camp at most events this season. Would make running more events more affordable going from $60/night+ for a hotel down to $5/night to camp!

Ahhh, I see you've settled on a name! It's beautiful

And if you consider Ranger babyproof, then SURE! Hell, babies spend a good part of the first year as mobile as a sack of potatoes, so I think we'll get through this season ok

I'll be happy to hold her though (when NOT crying or needing diaper changes!) cuz I love new baby smell. Repeat: when NOT crying or needing diaper changes. That's why being an aunt is awesome ... I get the fun stuff and hand 'em back when they get cranky or need to borrow the car or go to college or, well, you get the picture

Ranger is TOTALLY babyproof. We just haven't tested to see if he has prey drive toward a sack of potatoes.

That sounds good to me as well, I love camping. Erin and the little one probably won't come to all the events thoug.

I'm more owrried about our dog, write now we tell him go get his baby and he runs and grabs his toy and beats it to death. So no calling our little girl a baby or he may go balistic.

Got a couple helmets actually. I was thinking pads and fluid already so those will probably be what I do first. Thanks.

As long as they are up to current Snell standards - or whatever is mandated by the organization/track hosting the event.

Updates have been posted to the original post. The Shelby club posted their schedual, no prices yet. I ran with them last year, well put together event. Registration will be open for Fords first, then two weeks before the event they will open it up for all other makes.

I drove Blackhawk last summer with the Madison car club. It was a nice but small, definitely a track that caters to better handling vehicles vs. big HP.
