If any of you have interest in track events, the Chicago Alfa Romeo Owners Club (CAROC) will be hosting an open-lapping day on the South track at Autobahn Country Club, near Joliet, July 3, 2009. 45 minute Touring session during lunch. Open to all cars. Information is available at caroc.com or (847) 550-8915. It's the Friday before the 4th, and they give you lot's of track time with a transponder during the open lapping so you get all of your laps timed. They allow welcome all types of cars and put on a fun event. They create 3 separate groups based on experience and speed, so there is minimal passing and unimpeded track. Touring is at "moderate" speeds and no pace car. Passing and passengers allowed. You need a helmet for the open lapping sessions.
