rjacobs, I had pizza with you and your friend and followed you up DD highway breaking at least 90. Don't you remember me? Am I that terrible a person? What's wrong with me?!

So, did you get your front bumper fixed?

I remember you, just couldnt remember your name( I wasnt in the greatest frame of mind by the end of the meet), the only reason I remember daves name is because he gave me his phone number . I am horrible with names unless somebody puts a reminder into my phone or something.

They were also going to flash some cars, but that didnt work out. I also believe, please correct me if I am wrong, they were supposed to have lunch for us as well. They put a car up on the rack, an auto when most of us drive stick, and we could look around under it. Ah, so that was you that answered my question at Lou Fusz as to why they had those covers there, it was an auto( Thank you by the way). I was really surprised that the "Master Tech" did not answer right away by saying that it was an auto. Kinda makes me wonder....

Anyway, did you guys have your meet on Saturday?

I thought someone had mentioned earlier the possibility of some rx7 people attending as well..I dont know if that is still the plan or not.

BTW is there a location set by chance.

Having looked at the rx7club.com forums, it seems that the STL 7 club is planning their own little get-together/drive on the ninth. No mention in that thread of inviting the 8 people, though. Kind of a shame, in my estimation, since neither group appears to be all that large at present...

No, the irony of two separate and fairly small rotary groups doing their own thing on the same day in the same city and not bothering to invite each other is not lost on me.

So, the question still stands, what do we want to do?

well, I had nothing against the 7 owners on the last meet and invite them to this meet except that they kinda did their own thing at the last meet. Lou Fusz had the 8 on the lift and they were kinda like who cares, then at the winery they did not park with us(which I dont care about), then they did not talk to us(some did however). I invite them to meet with us on this next meet. I am waiting to here back from my contact at Bommarito Ellisville on the meet on the 9th to see if they are going to be able to do anything for us. If they dont get back with me by Monday then I will plan something that does not require them on Sat the 9th. I will have a BBQ at my house if need be(since I can cook up a storm). Then we will go on a drive from here. Please give me some ideas of where to meet if the dealership thing does not happen.

I'm up for anything, though I might be going to Cleveland for HIN, which might be that weekend. As an aside, I'm planning on upgrading to the Tein Flex coilovers in the next couple of weeks, and as thus my Tanabe GF210 springs are for sale, as you can see here:

https://www.rx8club.com/showthread.php?t=39223

I'd prefer to sell them in the STL area since shipping springs is both expensive and a hassle. That said, if any if you are on stock rims and tires or upsized rims, and you are looking for a quality, cost-effective drop to improve handling and appearance, they will be available.

All right, I'll try to think of some things, since my experience with Bommarito Ellisville has been kind of hit or miss.

What is this about the 7 owners not parking with us, though? Didn't we just kind of park around a corner from them (which I did for ease of parking, and just to keep the 8s in one place in case Ryan wanted pictures of them all together). I know they didn't sit with us at the winery, but that looked like a miscommunication thing... and the fact that we were too lazy to get back up and go look for them when they didn't turn up. <shrug> The 7 owners who joined us over at Alex's house afterwards were fine, though. Wasn't left out of any conversation I didn't want to be in.

Just my 2c, others may have had a different take on it.

Happy motoring.

Me personally, I felt welcomed by the 7 owners. We did park seperately at the winery, but I also thought it was a good idea for pictures. Remember we had a good integration at the resturant. I left almost immediately after arriving at the winery. I was up for the meet and the drive but couldn't stay because of other obligations. So I have no take on that aspect. But at the dealer and at the resturant, I felt no ill will or animosity. Maybe some sense of pride at having a faster car, but they do have faster cars. So it didn't bother me. If the 7 peeps will accept us, I have no problem joining them.

So let's do something guys, wanna do another dealership get-together or something different?

How about trying Bommarito in Ellisville instead? Let's give all the local dealerships a chance to kiss our asses

Maybe we should try and make an 'official' STL club, with people in charge of setting up events instead of all looking at each other, waiting.

Agreed, hell, I'm always up for just meeting anytime for a beer. If anybody is ever in the Ballwin area, I'll let you buy me a beer

An Official club would be cool. I don't think it would need to be overly complex with presidents and tresurers and the like, but at least a common person or a couple that coordinate each meeting time and location (and drive if weather permitting)

As BOSSTD7 said, it could even just be a lunch or meet some night for a couple drinks. I hope to be moving back home in the next year or so, and would love to join you all. Do you all meet like once a month regardless? Just wondering, up here we tend to do that.

Congratulations on your 21st, Seth.

While I admit I'm not much for beer, meets are good, even if just for lunch. Nobody ever said that all the rotary get-togethers have to be all-day affairs like the winery trip.

So, anyway, if we're still in the works for the 9th, who wants to interface with the 7 club? Ryan would probably be an obvious choice, being a 7 owner and all. From what I know, they were planning their own drive... If they don't want to get in on time at a dealership, is there any reason we couldn't do that in the morning and then meet up with them for whatever their drive is, provided they don't decide to start in the AM?

Anyway, time to work. Happy motoring.

RJ, have you chanced to talk to Bommarito yet?

This was mostly a shameless bump.

Happy motoring.
