St. Louis whereabouts

I have known about the RX8 for about a month and a half now and have owned one of my own for 2 weeks (didn't take too long to give in). I live in the Clayton area and own a Sunlight Silver. I've only seen 3 other 8's since I've been looking--a Ti Grey out by Lambert (on I-70), a Velocity Red by the Esquire movie theater and I've seen a blue one about 2 blocks from my apartment many times. Just wandering where everyone else in the Lou is.

Well I drive a red, there's another red 15 houses down the street to the north, and a yellow 10 houses down the street to the south. We're in St. Peters. I passed another red gt with appearance this morning about 7:45 am 70 eastbound by the airport.

Red,

I see that you added the exhaust finishers to your 8. Did you get them at the dealership? If so, I'm assuming at Bommaritto since you live in St. Peter's. That's where I got my 8 a week and a half ago. The finishers run around 200 don't they? And finally, do you think they're worth it?

I'm in Maryland Hts.

I think the exhaust finishers are a nice touch. I have them on mine and I think they look great.

Oh yes, I also have a red GT.

I ordered from maxdatrix in calif, they had the cheapest price at the time. I just installed the piano black b-pillars (no pics yet) and found the cheapest price at rozenthal maxda. I think the finishers are worth it but it's a very close call. There's a lot of angles where you can't see them.

By the way besides the red I saw on the way in to work yesterday, I saw a black 8 on my way home. I was pulling in to Costco St Peters and the black 8 was right in front of me. Fisrt time encountering another 8 on both commutes!

I'll be in O'Fallon, IL in a couple weeks, does that count? My car should be arriving there around the 22nd...

I've got a Winning Blue over here in Belleville, and spotted a Ti Grey a couple times this past weekend (don't know if it was the same 8 twice or two different 8's). Just paid my first ticket for "improper display of registration". I can't stand the thought of putting that front plate on the car.

I got my Georgia tags so I wouldn't have to worry about the front plate, or tint laws.

$75, courtesy of the St. Clair Co. Sheriff's boys. Basically everything from them is $75 except the ">20 but <30 over" speeding ($95) and "failure to wear seatbelt" ($55). I didn't think it was a primary offense, but I guess it is. I've got an appointment to have the Air Bag Recall done, new brake pads and the "M" reflash, so I'll probably have them slap the plate on the front while they're at it.

I also saw two Ti Grey 8's again. One was ahead of me on eastbound IL-15 then onto northbound IL-159 last night; and I saw another one this morning on Carlyle Ave.

The only problem with that, is that you have 30 days after moving into MO to get MO plates (unless you're not a resident, ie military, college student).

Are you sure about the tint? I think the tint law applies to all vehicles, not just those registered in MO.

Vehicles registered in GA fall under GA rules, I asked the question at the GA DMV. I even have GA insurance and a GA license so what could they do anyway? I was even stationed in MO about 5 years ago and kept GA plates and GA tint then. Only now GA supreme court threw out the tint laws just recently and all is legal in the state.

Your GA plates are fine, since you are not a MO resident (there's an exemption in the law). I don't know of any such exemption for tint. Just an FYI, the GA DMV & supreme court mean zero in MO. All that being said, if you can get by with it more power to you. Just from friendly advice; take it or leave it.

I am curious about the reason the GA supreme court threw out the tint laws. Also, where were you stationed in MO? I used to go to Whiteman AFB when the National Guard had a battalion of Cobra helicopters there.

The supreme court threw out the tint law because it was "unconstitional". I don't know why that is, but alright.

I was stationed at Whiteman 97-99, lived in Warrensburg most of the time.

Welcome to the club Katie. My mail address is St. Peters, but I'm officially in O'Fallon, either way we need more 8s on the road. You won't be disappointed. Well maybe if you get the auto. If you plan on getting the auto, please post or pm me. I can teach you in a very short time how to drive a stick in my 8 if interested.

I am going to be getting the mt with grand touring, appearance, and spoiler. Where did you guys get yours from? Did you have to order it? If so, how long did it take to get in? I just sold my subaru wrx and am ready to buy in a month so I need to get the details ironed out soon.

I bought mine from Lou Fusz on Lindbergh and they have plenty of 8's in stock. Bommarito would probably be closer for you and I drove by there yesterday and they also had a bunch in stock.

That's exactly what I bought. The mt with gt, appearance, and spoiler. Oh and rotary accents also. I was actually a pre-order customer. So I don't how the normal process works. I went to www.mazdausa.com and used the search inventory option and learned that bommorito had what I wanted on order. I talked to them and it was a general inventory order, not spoken for. I put my deposit down and waited a very long 4-7 weeks for the car to be delivered.
