I was thinking along the lines of something gunmetal for my car too. I think I am going to try the Plasti-dip on them and see how it works out. Worst case, I peel it off and am out 20 or so bucks.

The Cobb is available for AT: http://cobbtuning.com/info/?id=5538 You will see the option when you link through to mazdamaniac.com:

The Cobb AccessPORT is currently available for the North American automatic transmission, 4-port and 6-port models as well as the manual transmission 6-port models, 2004 - 2008 as well as European, Asian and Australian versions, both high and low power, 5 and 6 speed manual transmissions, 2004 - 2008.

You will realize very minimal - if any - gains from pretty much all NA modifications. The only real significant one is a midpipe, from what I hear.

Pulleys are expensive for little to no gain. Headers, are not as common as a mod, and I would go with a exhaust first before that.

I think its better to do the exhaust first so that the tune can then be worked for the car with the exhaust, im not sure if its a big deal though.

The throttle body spacer will help out with NOS. I think most people run the BHR throttle body spacer.. But NOS tears up our already delicate engines fast. I wouldn't do it.

Knowing how MazdaManiac works his tunes in general, if it isn't impacting the engine directly, it's inconsequential to tuning. Anything cat and back from exhaust do not matter for a tune.

I'll be participating in the online session tomorrow, assuming I don't wake up too late and miss out. Hopefully I'll have my next map by then; no idea how many more iterations to go after that.

do you know how much you gained throughout the whole process?still on the fence with the mm ap since you can get a used one around 350.

Power-wise, no unfortunately; never had a chance to take it to a dyno after a baseline run. Getting one used for $350, you'd still have to pay $300 for the service. If you were certain on the service, you may as well buy it straight from him @ $495 + $99.

Other than power, the increased OMP rate, earlier fan activation, and dwell adjustment setting (for BHR ignition) are nice.

well i had an ap with my STi and loved it. but i know i will be let down with the gains after the massive gains it gives turboed vehicles. the omp rate is not much of a big deal since i pre-mix. the dwell time would be nice since i already have a BHR. getting my axialflow SS tomorrow so that was the only mod i wanted to do before going with more power. and just on the fence on the MM tune versus just getting a used one.
