I noticed the engine ran rougher when I had to put oxygenated in. It was quite noticeable once the car is used to non-oxy.

notice how there are atleast 4 minnesota guys online?

tech/on computer work is filled with dead time

as for the fuel...ethanol in it equaled very poor gas mileage for my self while I managed well over 20 MPH (even almost 30mpg) with non-oxy

That's not good. On WI gas, averaging over 95mph I was getting just over 20mpg. If you're getting 12-15, you should take someone else along with you for a "typical" drive, and if they don't see anything wrong with what you're doing, you should start documenting so you can complain to Mazda. 12 to 15 is way out of the norm, IMO. (unless you're autocrossing)

reminder, Papajoey and Speed are Turboed which I imagine plays a major part

and 95mph nice I saw an RX-8 from California and we drove together for an hour and a half at speeds I can't post on the forum (could be damn slow or damn fast eh or regular and I'm being funny...actually I'll tell you this weekend if we all meet up)

Hey Champa you want to send out an email for this weekend?

I am pretty sure it was Aric that mentioned he would host a BBQ, not Eric, unless I missed something.

lol, not to my knowledge. (guess hooked on phonics worked for someone. )

So if you're turbo'd and getting 13 to 15 mpg, what are you using to track your AFR's.

what tools do you have to tune/tweak your setup?

Ok, so I'm totally out of the loop on tuning 8's, but do those tools allow you to change the fuel map you're using at diff. RPM's and loads, or is it just something that tells you what you've got.

essentially yes, but just a new map is put in (closed loop) as opposed to a fluid map (open loop)...well it isn't entirely closed

the stock ecu sees weird numbers so it starts to compensate and then make the turbo ride much rougher, that is why things work very nice for a little while (sometimes a day sometimes a week or so depends on how much driven) then the stock ECU starts wrestling with the E-manage and things get nasty (not undrivable but just not smooth).

The stock ECU is very complex. Although it shares many similarities with other ECus on the market it is filled with a complex web of error correction and it is very fluid

for fun we'll think of it as a cyborg, learns quickly, wants control, even with a system like the Interceptor they are having trouble (the interceptor works by creating a dummy car that the Stock ECU sees running fine so it doesn't try to wrestle, but error codes are still popping up since some of the safety features were retained and they don't like what they are seeing)

About the BBQ this weekend. Is anyone interested? I live in Shoreview - pretty close to 694 & 35W. Say 1pm? If we want we could do a drive too - I'm just throwing it out.

Sunday is fine too - it doesn't matter to me. Should we just move it to Sunday then?

I thought I'd grab beer, pop, chips, hamburgers, and brats. Could people bring either a side or dessert?

My address is 4981 Turtle Lane East Shoreview MN 55126 Cell: 612-868-5762

I am planning on Sunday.

I have Saturday off but my Great Uncle is turning 90 and there is going to be a lot of family there up in Princeton and it starts at 3pm. So Sunday is better even though I work at 4pm

I'll bring macaroni salad and Jalepeno cheddar potato chips .
