Michigan Rx8 owners - Track day anyone?
Hello... I might be thinking of going to this event (below) for some track time with my Rx8... I believe it would be fun to take the Rx8 to the track and see what it is all about...
Maybe, if enough people are interested, we could organize a meet at some location before going to the track @ waterford.
Give me some feedback if this is something you guys would be interested in ....

Presents
The Annual Labor Day Weekend Waterford Hills Event
Waterford, MI
Sunday, September 2, 2007
Event:
This is an open event for ALL CARS and ALL SAFE drivers. We intend
this to be a fun, enjoyable, educational day at the track where you can
drive at your car's potential, and improve your driving skills. In this
non-competitive event, we will give the maximum track time possible, rain
or shine. Cars will be grouped by performance potential and drivers' track
experience. This is not a race.
Tentative Schedule:
8:00– 9:30 am Tech Inspection & Registration
9:30 am Mandatory Drivers' Meeting
10:00 am First Drivers Session Begins
12 noon Lunch and Touring Sessions
12:30 pm Restart Drivers' Sessions
5:00 pm Event Closes
Drivers Sessions:
Requirements
ALL helmets MUST be SNELL rated SA 1995 or later (eye shield or
glasses for open cars) M rated helmets are accepted but not
recommended. SNELL label must be visible. No exceptions will be
allowed.
Roll bars for ALL open cars. Please call if you are planning to run
a convertible. Stock 3 point, 5 or 6 point harness (NO 2 point or 4 point-
strictly enforced).
Remember, this is a non-competitive event- no wheel to wheel
driving!! You may be warned or dismissed for spinning, leaving the track
surface, wheel-to-wheel driving or otherwise endangering
yourself or others. Any car-to-car contact is grounds for expulsion from
the event. We intend this to be a safe and fun event. This is not a race.
Any damage incurred to the track will be the
responsibility of the driver(s) involved.
Touring Sessions:
During the lunch break, all drivers will be allowed slow touring
laps of the track (no helmet or roll bars are required). Speeds will be
limited by pace cars, no passing will be allowed, passengers will be
allowed, and all drivers' session warnings will be enforced as
well. "Touring Only" is available for $10.
Early Registration Fee: AROC members: $100
Invited Club members: $105
Non-members: $115
Touring Only, pay at track: $10
There will be a $20 fee increase for all applications
postmarked/submitted August 26 or later.
There is a $20 fee for registering at the track on event day ($40
total fee increase).
Unlike past years, we have hired corner workers so that track day
participants will not have to work between run sessions! Thus, our price
has increased by $5 over last year. We think it's money well spent, as it
will allow much more time for drivers to relax and socialize between run
sessions.
We will allow 55 drivers to register for the Drivers Sessions.
Entries accepted in order of receipt, AROC members given first priority,
invited club members second, non-members third.
Send the below form completed (online, email, or post) and payment to:

Don't be discouraged. Organizing events is kind of like herding cats. LOL
These things come together the last few days before. I'm still hoping there will be more people attending the Cedar Point Run. (Insert the sound of crickets chirping)
Eventually we will get the SE Michigan Folks out of the house once in a while.
I have guests in town on that day, but if I can attend, I might.

Sounds like fun. I can't make it. Hopefully someone else is available. This is a great opportunity to enjoy the handling of the 8.
Be sure to post up some pics!

Well... Let me tell you....
The event was great!!... The Rx8 was great at this track!!! Lot's of curves...
To say the least it was one of the most exiting/adrenaline rush feeling I've had in a while...the 8's brakes, handling and track posture performed as expected... with exelence...
I will post pics later as I took some pics of the rides that were at the event....
