Hahaha, yeah. I still haven't seen another one on the road yet!! What color did you get yours in? Maybe we should try setting up an RX-8 meeting around southeast michigan!

Hmmm... I swear I saw a black one going north on Orchard lake towards 696 monday night. Didn't get a real good look, though.

I haven't seen one on the road yet. I live in Rochester and I'm surprised by this b/c I figured someone in that area would have an Rx-8 by now. A couple of Rx-8s should definately be in the dream cruise. Especially since I'll be there. If I had my car I'd be in it for sure. Oh well, there is always next year.

I got my Black GT 8 on July 18 from Metro Mazda in Ferndale.. I live on Drake & Grand river, so Cook Mazda is much closer to me. I went to Cook Mazda back in March, and the saleperson set me off, so I put down a deposit in Ypsi, and called around a bit..

I've got about 2600 miles on my 8 now, and I'm loving every minute of it. Phooey to all the heartless people who are crying foul at Mazda for thier Dyno numbers not living up to thier hopes. I like the 8 just fine the way it is, (but I don't think anyone would disagree that more is better)..

I'd be interested in a RX-8 meet.. Name the time & place.. somewhere in Farmington Hills would be cool.

Where were you guys for the dreamcruise? I saw 2 out there besides mine, a black auto gt, and a green 6 speed gt. It turns out the dude driving the green one was testing it for autoweek. He tailed me for a little bit before going to bham.

If you guys are interested, there are some weekly car meets in the area -

Tuesday evenings at Buffalo Wild Wings in Novi.

Friday evenings at 11 mile & Inkster in Southfield.

Anyway, it would be cool to get a bunch of 8's together, and I can bring my 7.

Hey Overlord...
I was standing next to your RX8 When I came in, to get my Mud-flaps added! Nice Car... I got mine july 1st and got the Vel Red. Can not tell you how many heads turn to look at this car.
Hope we get a meet for Michigan, that would be great. I live in the Shores and All the other dealerships were charging a "market adjustment" on the car, all except Metro Mazda!
Great Dealership.

I like Metro Mazda, it's just a bit far for me.. that would have been my first oil change..

What were you driving?

I get all kinds of looks too..

Did you take a look at the MW forum lately? there's a sticky for the MI rotary club, with a meet in Lansing on Sept 27... I'll be there..

Also seems that 11 & inkster is close enough for me to be interested.. I'll have to swing by there tonight to see what I can see..

And more info keeps coming in that the 8 really is a remarkable vehicle.. so a search for YAW.. there's a big long thread that gets pretty in depth, and is a good read..

Hey fellow Michigan rotary owners. Just wanted to jump in here and introduce myself. I have a 91 and 94 rotary vehicle, so for the next few weeks if you see a silver seven driving above posted speeds, give me a wave (after that I retire her and drive the black 91, it's a bit slower but better for winter).

I actually spoke to the people at Yaw Power when I flew out to Sevenstock. I concentrated a lot of my efforts to specifically talk to aftermarket vendors who are focusing on the RX8 to attend my event this spring in Indy. Last year (inaugural) we had 97 rotary vehicles. This year with the RX8 we are planning on pushing past the 150 mark (hopefully even higher). So, if you want to get a chance to really see what the sweet RX8 with it's perfect 50/50 weight distrobution will do.

Wish I could have met a few of you at the Michigan rotary meet, but I was in California. Maybe the next meet down at Banzai Racing I'll get to meet a few of you.

-Mike
