I've seen a black one, silver one, blue one and green in downtown Ann Arbor. You should join us (and the 21 other RX8's) in Indy this April 30th - May 2nd for the Rotary Revolution.

The MI caravan is about 30 strong and has four RX8's in it. :D

no thanks
i like the gtp's but it is pointless to straight-line race in the 8 anyways......a road course would be a different story though........

rotary-convert : Its all good, I would love to take an RX-8 for a spin, I heard they handle awesome!

Redfusion3 : Yea, I hear you that's what I love about the Mazda RX-8, it is a very charasmatic car, and you don't see too many of them around. The styling is totally cool.

Redfusion3: I don't have any pictures of my personal car online. But I can show you 3 links of how it (mine) exactly looks, the many mods you can do for a Grand Prix, & what it sounds like.

The first link is what the car looks like under the hood. Smaller supercharger pulley (3.8" stock) to 3.4" performance, equates to about 25 horsepower.

I also replaced my stock air box to a CAI, cold air induction kit.

http://www.pulleyboys.com/swap.html

http://www.dans-website.com/images/CAI_strut.jpg

The 2nd is the various mods one can do to a Grand Prix GTP.

http://www.migpc.com/Modifications/modifications.html

The 3rd is a 2004 Grand Prix GTP in action.

Hey Red, are you thinking about bringing your new 8 to join the MI caravan down to this year's Revolution? I won't be in the caravan (since I go down a day early to help my partner setup), but the more RX8's the better!

I got my Titanium GT last October. I live in Westland right now, and having just moved up from Columbus, OH, I have an Ohio State Buckeyes license plate bracket! (I apologize to the UM fans that I know are lurking here). I'll post pics later.

Meatchicken fan? That must be some Ohio lingo.
Of course I am a U of M fan, just graduated! I live for Big 10 football and some of my buddies were or are currently on the U of M team.
I'll be moving to VA as a 2nd Lt. in the Marine Corps in August.
BTW where and how much was your window tints? Do you have your front windows done, as I just got a ticket for mine in my old Pontiac Bonneville.

Yeah, picked up "Meatchicken" from the Buckeyes recruiting website www.bucknuts.com. :p

I also live for Big 10 football in the fall (and NFL as well). I was lucky enough to have season tickets during our 2002 National Championship season. I'm a huge fan.

My wife bought me a gift certificate for window tinting last Xmas. I had it done at Ziebart (they did a good job on my cars while I lived in Columbus) and I believe it was around $180. I went to the Westland location, which is a bit ghetto, and I'm not sure I'm 100% satisfied, because there are still a couple tiny bubbles near the edges of the film. It was done in January, and that was part of the problem. The water takes forever to evaporate from under the film in winter, so I had a ton of bubbles for 2-3 months. They're still disappearing, so I'm hoping those tiny bubbles eventually go away.

How dark was your tint on the Bonneville? The guy who did my tint said that the cops usually don't bother people with anything lighter than 35%. Any darker, and you might have a problem. I actually got a warning about my 20% tint in my Integra down in Columbus.

Good luck with your military career and move to Va. Do you think you'll be deployed pretty soon?

yep, I've been to bucknuts.com, not that I am an osu closet fan though.

If I remember correctly, I had 35% on the fronts and limo tints on the rest of the car. The company that tinted my windows(new image tinting in kalamazoo) told me this was legal in Michigan, naturally I got it, only to find out later that they lied to me. (When I confronted new image the owner said he must of gotten side tracked when I questioned him )

I was pulled over in Ann Arbor, where I went to school, after driving around for 2 years. I got a ticket, $135, yikes, but I fought it on the grounds that I was lied to and I would remove it. In the end, no ticket. Although, cops here usually don't persue out of state cars with "illegal" tints.
Be carefull in Ann Arbor, the city has been writing tickets like crazy to help curb the debt it is incuring. My friend got a ticket the other day for not registering his pedal bike!

For the most part I won't be deployed for at least a year. In VA I'll be at "The Basic School", where every Marine officer no matter his/her future job learns to lead a platoon in advanced infantry tactics.(in bootcamp/OCS you only get a taste of that) Depending on how I do there determines my future job. I'm aiming to be a pilot and if I am lucky enough to go to flight school I would be there for two years before I would see any real active duty. While I have no strong inclination to visit the hot, 110 degree, sand filled Middle eastern paradise, I would make no hesitation when called to do so.

thanks
d

I live in Kalamazoo, MI.... a small city called Kalamazoo. I have only seen 1 RX8 in town but I am looking to purchase one. So if you know anybody selling in the nearby area, drop me a line.
