Anyone know a GOOD body shop near lex/louisville/near area where I can get my fenders flared?

 

I let SMI do all my body work. They are in the ville though, off westport rd and the snyder.

 

I did mine on my own. I've never done bodywork before and I think they turned out great. I still need to finish the rear aero flares but I need to remove the rear wheel for that and I think I'll wait until the spring to get that out of the way so I'm not out in the cold for another 3-4 hours lol. The first side flare took me about 3 hours to fit and put on but the second took about 45 minutes lol. Front air dam took about an hour and a half to two hours to complete. If you want, I could refer you over to the guy who re-painted my rear bumper and I'm sure he could give you the hookup. He's in the southwest part of louisville and he does great with body work. He actually rebuilt half (literally) half of a toyota of ours before that got torn off by a drunk driver and made it look like brand new. We sold it for twice what it was worth prior to the accident lol. Anyways, here's his information:

So is the red RX8 on Fern Valley Road/South Hurstborne (Don't know what road name to use, but south/west of Old Shep) belong to someone here? I've seen this ride a few times in the past few weeks in the morning, including last tuesday in the snow... Just curious.

Nah not me... I live about 3 mins from fern valley off national turnpike but I frequent 265 to preston hwy exit for my work (Insight Communications). we have sooo many 8s here but none of them are on the forums... It's a shame... What do you guys think about the Mazdaspeed kit? I'm seriously thinking of getting one.

 

Haven't seen one in person, so I don't know. I'm still pretty new to cars in general (I was a truck guy for way too long!). I really don't have the frame of mind to care for add-ons for looks; that carries over from my 4x4. I like a nice looking ride; just don't know what makes one look better. Does that make sense??

And how are all the RX8er's???? I had my ride down at the Dragon this past sept., all you guys need to try this event. Nothing in the eastern us compares to driving the Dragon.

 

I'm starting with just the bumper at first. I just bought the Aero Kit so I don't wanna replace those just yet and I just spent 1k on getting the bumper redone so no need to replace that yet either lol. Should have the whole kit and the spoiler completed by the end of this year...

 

I like that mazda speed front bumper. That looks schweet. I'm assuming you can keep the factory fogs in there, somehow, right?

Don't know that I like the side skirts or the spoiler (I like my stock GT spoiler a lot), but that front bumper is awesome.

(And it definately helped that your signature has the stock one right below for a quick comparo! Don't know if that was on purpose or not, but it sure worked!!)

 

Kainis, just get a spoiler. At least that's what i was going to do since i have aero kit already. However it is pricey as well.

 

We should go take pics this weekend. Plus mazdaspeed kit does look good, real clean but for now im Veilside...

 

Lol my dad works at insight off outerloop/preston intersection. I live on new cut road by the walmart n kmart... But ya there is alot of 8's around now days. I hardly ever seen any last year.............................................. ............
