there are little nicks in the blocks, but nothing bigger than a very small pebble. about the size of a letter here. A<----like that. No big chunks. In the upper classes I thought there were a decent amount of people running R's.

Munster, IN (near hammond/gary) But I work in Downers Grove. Just picked up my new RX-8 at the dealer in Olympia fields last Wednesday (August 24th) And I love it. I cannot believe how many people come up and talk to you and ask you so many questions and think that I paid over 50 g's for the car. It is great.

Not yet, I do so much travel that I've really only driven it for 3 days. When I get home (either thursday or friday) I'll post some pics. It's a sunlit silver GT. So I like the idea of meeting up but am sorta shy because I'm totally new to this rotary engine concept and have only a stock car (so far) I would like to add a carputer to it ... possibly in the spring. For winter tires what do ya'll recommend? I commute like 50 miles each way to work so snow tires are a definate for me. If there is a meeting and I'm in town (and it's not to late at night cause I leave for work at 5:30am) I'll try and be there (if welcomed).

First Chicagoland Meet!!!

First official Chicagoland meet took place today in Plainfield. Yeah it was small, but it holds to a promising future. RedSheDevil, Al, and myself Racewar were in attendence and took a few night shots after looking at the classic cars. And were all looking foward to meeting more of you soon! :D

Sorry I missed it guys, but I didn't get mine back from the dealer soon enough to make it. Let's see, 1 black 1, silver, 1 red. Looks like you still have room for a Shinka!

I just tap the brakes to settle the rear for grip, I'm WOT thru the kink in 4th, prob going about ~90. Exiting the carousel aiming for the blacktop I'm at the top of third, just like you.

I just don't talk about those things. Goverment secrets and all. Dept of Homeland Security.

Things to do:
Delete offending Picture
Erase from memory of all viewers. :D

well, this past weekend I was up to 115 or so on the front straight, I was actually faster by a couple mph in the rear straigh going into 5. everyone wants to follow the road rather than just taking a straight line thru. Lap traffic was slowing me up IIRC.

In the other thread, I gave all I could think of about driving the track. Cann't think of anything else. I will post a picture of me racing the RX7, exiting turn 3, when I get home tonite.

Allen

Edit: First Picture it Gratten (85 GSL-SE w/13B), Second is RA entering Turn 5 (82 GS/w 12A) and Third is Michigan International Raceway (85 GSL-SE w/13B).

You should have been able to hit 130 before breaking for turn 12. In the RX7, I used to hit 115-120 at the Kink. It is over a mile between turns 9 and 12 which is the next break point. I would exit the Carousel, holding my shift to 4th( on a 5 speed trans), at about 95.

well in that case I still have a LOT of work I need to do with my braking points and exit speeds.

well, gotta get faster! Next year I think I'll get a set of RT-615 Falkens and a track set of wheels, maybe do coilovers. Dammit, I need a bigger track budget!
