Hey whats up, quick question for you. The rims you got for your winte tires, do you know if they are 7, 7.5, or 8 inches?

My "horror story" consisted of not being able to get up my driveway. Seems like no big deal til you think about leaving your car in the street with the huge *** street snow plows coming way too close for comfort. Not to mention having to dig your car out the next day.

I got the Kazeras. I'm pretty sure they are 7's. I'm in North Carolina now or I'd go check em out in the basement.

Yo girl!! I've been so busy myself I haven't been able to make nearly as many meets as I used to. I missed the last one cuz of work. But I'll be at the November one! We added another monthly meet for everyone who works weekends. I think it's the third Tuesday of every month...but don't quote me on that ... I've had some wine and not really thinking all that straight.

Man, I really wish the multi-quote button worked

Actually, it now looks like I might be at the next meet. I was going to be out of town with Jen for her aunt's wedding, but our oldest dog is going to have to have surgery on her leg next week, so I will be staying around to keep an eye on her.

Thanks

Thanks for the help folks. I did pick up the winter tires on Craiglist. Since I have a brilliant black 8 and the rims are black, I'm thinking about wearing a Batman costume when I'm driving. I know it's gonna look like the Batmobile. Now these are my first winter tires, is it true that you should wait till the temp reaches the low 30's to put them on? Do warmer temps tear up the tread?

Thanks again folks.

warmer temps and dry pavement will expediate the wear of dedicated snow tires. However you should not wait till the temps are in the low 30's to put them on. Summer tires are worthless well before that. I would say don't wait any longer than consistent mid-to-low 40's during the time you drive the car.

I remember my first time driving in the rain with summer tires when the temps fell into the 40s. I would spin the tires at every light unless I did a second gear start. Even with gentle throttle, and that was before the lower rear gear. I didn't really have trouble stopping or turning, but starting was a problem in first gear.

I spun my old car on Blizzaks a couple of Springs ago. I have new Dunlop snow tires in the garage waiting to be mounted. I'm expecting better rain traction.

For all of those who wonder what's going on with me...

I finally was able to get the car in the shop today, after it had been sitting for 4 months with a blown clutch. The dealer is doing more than just the clutch. Since the car has been sitting for so long, it flooded out, battery has completely died, and for some reason they say they can't get the alarm to shut off. Well anyways I should have my car back tomorrow. So hopefully I will be seeing you all real soon for the next meet.

I might actually stop by as well. Since I'll be in the area anyways. No promises though since it's my Dad's birthday.

Yeah! I finally get to meet the "flasher"

Mac and I should be there as well. He's coming over here early to help me try to get a dent out of my car

One of those stupid boneheaded dents that I believe happen to remind you to be humble.

Aw. Mine's full of dents if you ever feel like getting some of mine out. =) That's what happens when you live in an apartment complex and don't get a garage.
