Evolv-Chicago Meets HERE...
Anybody have any interest for a cheap car show for saturday the 19th? Saw a sign for this when driving by the high school and looked it up...

If we are interested I'll email the sponsor to see about getting our cars parked together.
Figure we could grab a bite afterwards if we want. Good chance to educate some of the younger folks about the rotary engine. I'm sure the kids in the club would love to see some.

I got some more info on the car show.
"We would love to have you and your clubs come out to the show. There is a big interest from a lot of students with the rotary engines. All cars are welcome at our show as we are trying to raise money to support our auto club. We would be more than happy to have you and all of your friends park in one area and have a rotary display area. It will be a great experience for students as well as all others attending the show.
I know that one gentleman who always comes to our shows is a big wig for mazda and has lots of knowledge and experience with them. He personally has a 69 Camaro Pro-touring car, so if you see him, it may be worth your while to talk with him. He is a big supporter of what we do at OEHS Auto Club."
Sounds like it could be a lot of fun for us.

Hey Mark, when do you have to let them know about the Oswego car show? I can't enter (as I'm leaving the next day and don't want to make a commitment I can't keep) but could possibly stop by to say hi for an hour or so.
There is no preregistration for the car show - just bring your 10 bucks. They are going to start letting in cars that want to be part of the show at 3. I'm guessing you can show up anytime, but if you show up later you won't be guaranteed a spot for your car in the show area - you'd have to park in the spectator area, but that is free.
Jen and I are planning on going regradless, as it sounds like fun. My neighbor might come with his Buick Grand National.
I guess it would be good if by thursday or so people could have an idea of if they are going to go. That way I could tell their auto shop teacher if we need the "rotary display area" or not.

So far I'm scheduled to show up and check it out! Wonder if this big wig is the same big wig I know
He's the one who is trying to get EVOLV in on a Miata auto-x event!

RSD,
What time are you thinking you will be there? They are going to let "show" cars start parking at 3. Maybe we could meet at my place to head over together to make sure we get our cars parked together? I know the shop teacher said he'd like to have a rotary display area.

I would absolutely love to, but I can't make that kind of commitment. I have no idea if I will even be able to go, let alone what time. I'm leaving at 5am the next day for almost 2 weeks, so I have a crapload of stuff that I'm hoping to get done.
How bout I call you and see where you are if I can make it? I'll try to give you a little advanced notice

Great! Any other last minute takers? Red Devil and I are meeting at my place at 3 to head over together to make sure we get parking together. PM me if interested. I only live about 5 to 10 minutes away from the high school.
