I am sure that one of us will be able to pick you up at the airport. If nothing else I will help you get to your destination. I'll be renting a car though so it wouldn't be in an 8.

As I've stated elsewhere I may be trading it in on an H2 soon anyway.
Wow. I haven't been around here in a while. I can't believe some of the things I've read.
Whether this has been covered already is a moot point as I didn't want to read through every post.
I have to appologize to the 8 crowd as I've been so focused with the 7 guys that I have let you fall by the wayside. I'll fix that. Some of you know that I've been trying to get Chicago back on the map as far as the club thing goes. Since taking over last fall, it's been a challenge to get a legit thing organized with other things that have been going on.
In response to Ryan, it's funny how he criticized this when he says that he's been trying to unite everyone. Let them do their own thing. So what? Easy to see why people have the opinions of him as they do.
I don't know how far this has gone, but with the Revolution happening so close, I hope that this won't interfere with people going to that. Where I realize that you want to do your own thing and not be under the umbrella of the 7 crowd, this is a rotary thing, not just a 7 thing. I think there's been so much misinformation about the 8 being a successor to the 7 which isn't true. I don't think so anyway. After riding around one at Gingerman, I have respect for it's capabilities. Just let the aftermarket catch up and all will be well.
Just ignore all the nay sayers. If you need some help from me, just let me know. I plan to be there, but as a rotary enthusiast, not an elitist of any sort. Keep the superiority attitudes in check and everyone can have a good time. How hard is that?
As I've said, I've met some of you already, at least a few Chicago locals. I suck with names, but one has gone on a cruise with the local 7 guys. He had fun, and man was he tearing it up. I'm looking forward to meeting more local 8 owners. If those guys are reading this, send me a PM if not already on the email distruibution list.
Kari, what's your thing about the other forum? I'm pretty sure I have an idea, I just want your take on it.

No one really cancelled it.. You can all go, just arrange something!
I just won't be going and no one else was attempting to make any arrangements. I have a list of hotels downtown with decent pricing.

On a side note I stayed at the Omni Ambassador east a few weeks back and it's a nice place with pretty reasonable pricing. Michigan Ave. and a good amount of non touristy nightlife and restaurants within walking distance.

Sorry to hear that the meet has been cancelled. You are all welcome to come to our 1st Annual Rx8roup.Com Meet on June 5th, 2005. See the website for more details. Hope to see some of you there.

It would also be nice to see you consider coming down to the Rotary Revolution in Indy April 22-24. Right now we look to be once again over 200 rotary vehicles strong and Mazda is sending out a personal invitation to over 4000 RX8 owners in the Midwest.
Given a normal 3% return that would put us over 140 RX8 owners there this year (keeping fingers crossed).

Hey guys...so what the heck is up with this? Is it on? is it off? Let's get an actual list of who is going, and then get a group rate at a hotel, so that we all stay in the same location.....that is if its still on.....
