Hey, im from the mazda6club forums, and im out inviting chicagoland mazda owners to a meet on sunday july 31st. i notice that there is a meet at the ram in shaumburg as well on the 31st, this meet starts a bit sooner and ends a bit later, and im sure that we might even stop by at the ram if nobody is really against it. ive already sent out the info to the msprotoge forums, and the rx8forum from the chicagoland area will probably be bringing a few people, so here's all the info.

THE BEACH
Meeting for some grilling and such at Gilson Beach on the north side of chicago exact time not yet set. ( afternoon or noon ish)

Chicago Indoor Racing: Top of the line indoor go kart racing. ( indy car drivers go there for fun.) Great place, good time to battle it out on the track check out the website

The ravines:
A nice little set of 10-15 twisties we can take when heading from the beach to Chicago indoor racing. lots of fun, as long as nobody overstepps their abilities. I will take some pictures of everyone cruisin through the twisties, great pictures probably. ( WASH YOUR CARS!!! make them look hot)


Woodfield Mall: ( one of the largest malls in the world) : there is a local scene there usually on saturday nights, im sure a bunch of mazdas rolling up would make a bit of an impression, plus they have a gameworks...= fun racing sims and some other stuff. I figure we could talk and admire other cars, admire our own cars and shoot the **** with the honda guys. or somthin. probably hit up hooters, which is a great place.. duh.

bring tools if you want to work on your car a bit, we'll be doing some easy mods like taillight and airbox mods for those who are interested.



DRIVING DIRECTIONS:::

Gilson beach is located on the north side of chicago, in wilmette.
From the south:

if you can get on I-94 heading north, the exit is lake, take it east ( 34C) and you just take lake pretty much straight to the lake (east) and you will hit gilson beach. it would be impossible to miss because you would hit the lake.


Coming from the north: Take I-95 south until you hit the skokie exit (34 A) its the only exit and it gets you going east. Follow skokie till you hit lake, and take a left on lake. (east) then keep driving till you hit the beach.


consult a map or mapquest about how to get to wilmette from your area if you want and look at the map of wilmette, the freeway is right next to wilmette and lake street is just north of the town center according to mapquest.

here is a really easy google map of the area, if you follow lake to lake michigan you see the green area, its the beach.

Pay for the parking, i think its 7 bucks or somthing, ill try to find some spots where we can all park together, hopefully, the beach is sometimes jammed. esp on weekends ) ( ill be there around 11:45) the meeting time is 12:00, at the beach house. its the building right on the beach, right near all of the parking. When you get close, give my cellphone a call and ill tell you where we're all parked. Look for a Blazing Copper 6, with white mazda6club stickers.
