I don't know too much about NAs specifically. I do seem to recall reading something about replacing the AFM with one from an RX-7. If you haven't joined it yet, go to Miata.net. It's considered the old fogey forum, but they do have a lot of knowledgeable folks and their garage section has quite a few how-to's. Get on the OMO on Facebook too, there are guys on there who are more than willing to help someone out.
thanks guys. i've already joined the Facebook group and miata.net forum and reading up a lot.
does anyone here know how to weld and willing to teach me the basics? I'm planning on getting some cheap welder so that I can fix up some body rusts.
one sad thing is tho, my poor 8 is not parked outside until i get the miata fixed up...

Hey are there any events or meets coming up. I'm really itching to meet some other Rx-8 owners. I also wanna get back on to the track. I use to go all the time with my mustang and AE86 and its been too long

Welcome Almost home Chief
Took Isabella to fuel for her first time today, then washed and waxed the M in the afternoon. It needed it so badly. Sucks you got stuck in Philly Steve. I've been waiting to see that 135i.
Hopefully we'll have some good weather next weekend.

Yeah I got home at 6 today. Hopefully I can get to Fuel next weekend, but I'm back in Philly next Tues to Friday. My luck with East Coast flights hasn't been too good the last year or so.
Chief, Kevin hope to see ya there.

If anyone is going to DGRR X this year and interested in a caravan on Thursday down to the event we will be meeting at the Bob Evans by King's Island off of I-71 at 7 am for breakfast and an ETD from there of 8 am. Hope some of you can go this year, it really is a great time.
Wendy, you suck. I'm going to be doing training in Singapore then.
Off the ship and on my way home. Hotel in Istanbul tonight, flying tomorrow. Have some wine percolating in my belly, it's a good feeling.

A coffee shop just east of downtown Cincy that hosts a Cars and Coffee every Saturday.

Good seeing you briefly on Saturday Kevin. Sorry for rushing off but we are thinking about getting another vehicle (the VW finally died and Robyn came to her senses) and she wanted to go look at one up north. I know I sounded awesome with the belt slippage as I drove off.
There will always be DGRR 2015 Chief!
Wish I didn't work weekends or I'd join you all at Fuel :-(
Ha - no YOU suck - with your first first gen, the 8 and a Miata - I am jealous so much because your trio is better than our trio. When all three of ours are road worthy then and only then will I suck, lol.

No worries Mike. I image that I'll see you this weekend again. So what car did you go look at?
So it was belt slippage? Sounded funky, thought you might have had a misfire.
glad it's more simple than that.
