So the Mazda folk is not going to Fuel as much as last year. I went down today with the Miata and only one or two other Miatas were there.

More Scions than Mazdas.

What time were you there Steve? I got there around 10, didn't stay but about 30 minutes as my youngest brother was in town to see my niece and we were going karting. It's the height of summer so all the exotics are out and about (how about that LFA?). Once the weather turns crappy it will be back to the mundane cars, I expect you will see more Mazdas etc then. My Miata will be there after next week when I am home.

Didn't see that, I'll have to check if the chalk outline is still visible this weekend.

I got there around 10:45 in the newly refreshed Miata. That new parking set up sucks. I only stayed 30 mins. Liked the LFA.

Mike, need to chat with you about Miata brakes. I might tackle it myself. Never done one but it doesn't look too hard. Pads and rotors. Nothing too fancy as replacements.

They're easy. Rears have that goofy adjuster you use to back out the pistons, that part is a lot easier than those ones you have to screw the piston back in. Just make sure you adjust the rears back once you are done. The garage section on Miata.net should have all the info you need. Also, make sure you lubricate all your sliding pins. Mine were all good, but I have read quite a few reports of folks finding them corroded and stuck. If you have any questions after you've looked into it let me know.

I'm up for it if it's before our vacation.

Holy crap I'm beat. Spent some time this morning working on the Miata, then about 1300 I started removing shingles in preparation for the roofers tomorrow. All I got done before running out of steam/daylight was the main roof. I haven't been this physically drained for a long time. Depending upon how I feel in the morning I may just have them do the rest.

That is hard work chief, it will wear you out fast. I ripped my old tile backsplash off and half the drywall came with it. I am now working to get things smooth again... before Ohio Valley puts in the new countertop. I feel like one of those people on tv with a short time frame.

Chief you wouldn't happen to have a 36mm wrench would you? A fan clutch one would work as well like the thin Assenmacher style. I need one to adjust my rear eccentric bolt for lowering the spring plate.

Just saw a VR 8 on 75 south with what looked like black stockies just south of Tylersville exit on my way to work. Not sure who it is though

So I woke up to this. Kerry Mazda is bringing a tow truck out now, didn't see any damage on the radiator so its coming from somewhere near the block. Hopefully just a loose hose clamp from the rebuild (this Friday would be 2 weeks)

I can't recall for sure but don't think I have a wrench that size. Might have a socket though, I'll check to see.

EDIT: yep, have a 1/2" drive 36mm socket. Let me know if that will work for you.

Let me just say how awesome Kerry Mazda is, Todd Hendricks out there is great. Thought my coolant leak was caused from the new engine going in but it was and older hose which he said looked like it had fang marks in it. They are not charging me for the part, the labor, or the tow. I have had nothing but great experiences with these guys.

Thanks Chief, looking at it last night, a socket wont fit in that spot. I did do a little research and found a bicycle headset tool from Park Tools online for cheap. I picked it up and should work great since the bolt head is the thin type as well.

I kind of figured since you were looking at suspension work a socket would be too big. Glad to found what you needed.

Met Steve (Starvsnr) at Kerry purely by chance when I was picking up Miata parts and he was picking up his car. Hope to see you at Fuel some time.

Miata is a runner! I'll be at the Triple Nickel cruise tomorrow getting the Rivals broken in.

Have fun Mike. Glad that the miata is back together and running.

I'll be up at Mid O hanging out and getting pics/video of my budding running in the NASA event up there.

Now that I got my car back let me whip it in shape and I'll see you guys out there sometime!

I'm cooling my heels in London this week, but am planning on Fuel next Saturday (provided I can replace my clutch master/slave cylinders once I get home on Friday). Hope to see some of you there, you can drool over the new Miata goodness (yes, I am somewhat full of myself).

Was wondering if anyone knows of a company that makes a bypass for the stock DVD player?

This was at Fuel today, someone has a sense of humor:

Good seeing you and Jason there Kevin. I can't remember the other guy's name who was with you. I showed the GT-R to Robyn and was telling her about it. She said she would never drive one because it was a Nissan.

It was good seeing you too Mike. I don't recall who else was around. Probably Craig. lol.

The Miata sounds pretty wicked now. It turned more than a few heads when you left.

Thanks. I love it. Only change since last time home was a 4-2-1 header but it has given it a nice bark under throttle. Balances the 'charger whine out nicely. I still need to get the slip joint for the remaining bits of the bigger exhaust fixed so it will fit together and give that a try.

Oh, and I might try schooling the FRS guy once I get mine properly tuned...
