I bet you can't wait to get home Chief, seems like you've been out forever.
...yeah the cool thing about those cars is you can restyle them to look like the RSR in that pic (older style) or you can upgrade it to look like a 964 easily, or even a 993 with a lot more work.
I just asked him if he wants to trade, so we'll see. I never thought that I would get a response for my RX8, so you never know doesn't hurt to ask.
I probably would leave it alone though and just drive it. Even with those crappy pics, the car looks pretty clean to me. Those Fikse wheels... I wish I had them on my car.
btw, I took some pretty good pics at the S's from M-O Vintage race the other weekend. I'll have to post them when I get a chance. I even got a Rotary or two in there!

Owner said he's interested, although out of town at the moment.
Now I somehow have explain to the wife why an older car than the one I have that may not be in the same shape is a better deal. It's hard trying to explain these "it's not apples to apples" things to the other half about cars. I will wait to hear back from the guy before I get into that I suppose.
I must say I am a little excited and scared at the same time. Don't know what I'm looking at with 911's. LOL

Call Wright Motor Service in Milford, or the race shop in Batavia, and schedule a PPI if things get that far. With an old 911, a PPI is a must. They can turn into a basket case quick. I don't know of anyone else that know p-cars in the area short of one of the dealerships, but and indy like Wright is a better bet and price most likely. Just let the wifey know that the 911 will hold it's value, and will likely go up as new ones become more expensive and electronic friendly.

Hey guys, I still want to offer all this before it goes to ebay! ok, so... sadly the rx8 is gone... but my loss could be some of you guys gain, I took almost everything from the 8 out, I need to sell it, and I rather have some of you guys buy it than having to deal with shipping of any kind. I live around mason and I know couple of you guys live up here, but for the rest we could meet almost any saturday at fuel.
some pieces came out and some others never really made it in, and the stuff that I took out is in pretty good shape, so the list is a bit long but you can send me a PM if you are interested in any of it.
front mazdaspeed strut $150
rear beatrush strut $100
mazdaspeed oil cap $35
mazda front accent (new) $35
AF short shifter $150
Cobb Accesport (maps in it) $450
weapon R oil catch can (new) $50
clear corners $50

works bell shifter $50
BHR ignition system $300
spare tire bar $50
(bought through ebay and I think is missing hardware)
air filter $20
front lower plastic piece (if anyone wants it I'll give it for free, it's scratched and one support is broken)
clutch pedal cover $10
trunk all weather cargo tray (with cuts for the rear strut) $50
footwell lighting ("new" but missing timer and electro tap) $50
carpet mats (new) $50

Buy Erick's stuff!!!! Some good stuff in there and he's a good dude that kept a clean car.
So Jason and I couldn't resist and went to wade through the riced out civics at ImportAlliance Saturday. It was a bigger turn out that I expected, of exactly what i expected. Lots and lots of civics with the same cheap parts and wheels.
here is a video of my experience:

Don't have my flights yet, but I'll be home around the 5th. Leaving from Tenerife which is where I joined. Much better than Nigeria! Already planning on getting the cylinder head stripped down.

Wife calls it "Turbito" "because it's not a real turbo like my car" she says. It's surprisingly fun to drive... much better than the crappy Veloster was. This car does everything better. If the Fiesta ST had a 6AT we would be driving that probably... but this car isn't bad.

So I am taking my car in this Friday to Kerry Mazda Florence for a compression test, fearing the worst. I have tried to PM kwikslvr because I seen he had a engine replacement done at Kerry before, but his inbox is full.
Has anyone else had experience with Kerry Mazda through this process? I am a second owner so I do not have complete service records, getting worried if the numbers aren't good on the test they are going to be difficult to using the warranty (which I am still under).
Any info would be appreciated!

I haven't had to deal with Kerry for a rotary engine replacement, but I have seen RX-8s on the lift with their hearts torn out on more than one occasion when I stopped by for parts, so they are experienced with the transplant.

That is reassuring, hopefully they are one of the nice dealerships that wont try everything they can to deny the engine warranty.

No matter the brand, the dealer only gets paid a fixed rate from the manf for warranty work. When I had my Speed 6, the clutch TSB Mazda approved only paid about half the labor it took. That's why dealers hate major work under warranty.

So I don't have the sheet back but I just got a call, engine failed. Lowest on the front rotor was 6.16, lowest on the rear was 5.94.
New engine will be there next week, leaving the car there and its all under warranty! They did not ask for service records, what a relief.
Time to to read up on break in procedures!

Home! And of course, up at an ungodly hour surfing forums (since I'm not at the house yet and can't do car stuff).
James, I can finally see your pictures (and now Steve's comments make sense). Those seat look very comfortable. I'll be interested to see how Chevy's turbo system holds up.

Welcome home Chief. Seats are good, but are not as firm as I like. The car basically needs a turbo just to keep up. I took it out rt. 18 up to Rabbit Hash, Big Bone Lick, and back around Petersburg to the Anderson Ferry yesterday, so I got to test it out. Rear is loose, needs a big rear sway bar IMO.
...I took the same route earlier in the day in the other car. A group of Harley's in front of me. One of them dumped around a tight 15 mph turn.
It was pretty scary. I parked the 944 and did damage control for oncoming as the dude ate it pretty good. I am just glad the guy was all right... and I didn't plow into 7 full dressed Harley's. No amount of clear bra to help that.
I should be ordering the rest of my suspension stuff this week, so an install party would be good.
