Paul, let me know ASAP!! I have two guys wanting the coilovers "like now" and I would rather you have them and your local which makes things easier. I will need your stock exhaust in return.

I am going to the place where we dynoed our cars on friday to get the coilovers off..so I can get you everything by the weekend.

Just text me or PM me ASAP once you know of something..sooner the better!!

Pre-load Adjusted

Adjusted the pre-load on my suspension on Monday. Man, this thing looks tough! It sits at least an inch lower than before, and rides even better!!!

It was quite simple, really. All I had to use is a 17mm socket. I turned the wheel all the way to the left, so you can get your arm in there (I did it in the driveway). At this point, I loosened two of the top A-arm bolts that I could reach on each side of the vehicle. After that, I turned the wheel the other direction, and loosened the other two that I couldn't reach before. Then I took a spin around the block, and repeated the process, only tightening the bolts. The whole thing only took about 15 minutes, and the car really handles better than before. Also, that strange noise that I had heard has disappeared (maybe the bushings are finally setting in to their new ride-height. Anyway, the car rides good, and handles even better. I highly recommend adjusting this after the install. The Tein's are great and also highly recommended.

Hmm, so I guess the guy who installed them did not pre-load after all.
I want to see how it sits now, since you said its lower now.
So.... whens the next meet?
Or at least post some pics!

yo duders and dudettes. i have a replica mazdaspeed bodykit i need to get rid of. it has the front bumper, side skirts, and rear half bumper. everything is in pristine shape. it is unpainted and unprimered, in the original bubble wrap. there is nothing wrong with it. fact of the matter is i just dont have the money to install on my car, and its taking up too much damn room. if you want it, just hit me up and make an offer. i dont really care how much i get out of it. i just want it gone!!! 859-991-4793 jeremy

No the car wasn't pre-loaded at all, because my mechanic said it didn't need it (he's never worked on an 8 before). Any way my car sits like Jeff's BB, but without the body kit/ I'll try to get some pics soon.

What kind of springs/shocks do you have? I just bought Jeff's setup and installed in this weekend. It was a little work for a driveway mechanic but I managed.

I want the car to settle before I get an alignment. But it sounds like this will do the settling quickly. Is this true?

Here are some quick pics from my phone. I just left it at the setting that Jeff had.

The rear looks about the same. However, the front is notably lower.

The rear does look slightly lower. I bet it handles alot better now, especially with those Falken's!

I have drive on the coil overs for a couple a days now. It is significantly better than stock. The ride is not as stiff as I thought it might be. It does get a little bouncy over rough pavement.

I may lower it a little more. I also plan to have the car corner weighted and aligned when I get the ride height finalized.

I still get rear wheel lift in turns. (It is much better) I think my next upgrade will be sway bars and end links. Does anyone have any experience with this on the RX8?

PS. I think I need better seats. I can go around turns and slam up against the door panel if I don't pretension the seat belts.
