probably the top speed at the long right hand sweep before the last slalom, but don't know how fast I was going. i've heard some of the faster guys (they are more than 10 seconds faster than me in this one minute course, so imagine that...) were going over 60mph there, so my guess is something like 50mph at tops...

i'd strongly suggest give it a try. it's really fun to know what your car can do (and what I cannot do...)

I looked though all the different options for recording, and found this is the best (=cheapest) option for me.

Made my video mount using:
leftover pipe from the closet = $0
faux leather at discount fabric area from Walmart = $5 for enough to make another set.
plywood piece I found in garage = $0
hardware = $5 or so...
loaning out camera from my work = $0

and recently got GoPro Camera at work for a project which I can use whenever I need = $0


can't really beat this...
and I think I need that $1700 for the tires that I waste by spinning out at least once every event....

haha, it kinda does look like dave lemon's. I've seen the car many times and I noticed it's the same wheesl but never really noticed. I've got that weird blue/green color though. Good call on the tires. They're at my garage but if memory serves correctly the front is 255/40/18 and the back is 285/35/19. I don't mind doing a little fender pull or a little camber, but I don't want it to look ridiculous. I want someone to pull up behind me and go "Damn, that looks.... meaty." Not gangster. lol. You may have thought I had 18's on the back as well since I didn't mention the stagger. Thanks a ton for the feedback to you and Fuz. I may make it out to fuel today. Went to Eddie Merlot's in Montgomery tonight. Had the valet parked my 8 next to a Aston Martin DBS or Vantage. Not sure which one it was. Anyway, there's the A-M, a MB CLS, a couple of Jags, and then my 8 parked in front of all of them. Valet liked my 8. Of course, I tipped him accordingly.

Just bought this. It's hard to find just the precut ones anymore. Should look good with the new rear spoiler. Leaving the tails stock, but figured the 3rd light would look cool tinted under it.

Clutch pedal bracket snapped while the wife had the car over the weekend. Doesn't seem like she did any other damage though. She just noticed that the pedal felt weird. She didn't smell burnt clutch and didn't have any trouble driving at least. I'll have to order another one. I'll probably have my dad weld up the old one and the new one when i go up to see him in may.

In other car related news. I fixed the beater's seat mount that i broke over a month ago, so it's safe to drive again.

 

Scored an older set of Recaro LX seats last night for the 7. These have the net headrests so they will look right at home. I wanted to buy a pair of these when the car was new but couldn't afford them then. They will need recovering but that's it.

 

Fuz, I am glad that nothing bad happened, that is a scary deal because it's so sudden (I remember when mine snapped on the way home from work in rush hour).

Chief, did you score the widebody kit for the 7?
