Oh, you'll love the R3. I almost bought one but my *** was too big for the Recaros.

I'm not that far away. I'm always up by Lowes pickup up stuff. We're going to have a meet and greet at some point in the near future up at Fox and Hounds.

 

Yeah, I'm an average size guy, but have a big *** myself. Hopefully I like it. Actually preferred not having the moonroof, but power seats might have been nice.

I was against the s2's at first b/c I have always like the front of the s1's better. Just took me a bit to get used to. Car isn't going to be my daily driver, as I have a company van I drive, so seeing me on the road might be seldom at best. But I'd definitely be up for a meet anytime.

My wife thinks I'm having a mid-life crisis wanting to get rid of my jeep for a sports car. Guess that means I'm going to die young since I'm only 29.

Congrats Allen. My father owns a black R3 as well.
To be honest, I don't like the series 2 unless it's the R3. I don't know what it is but with out the lip and the sides, the series 2 looks weird to me.
He's running Tein Flex's and pretty low

As far as my 8, front bumper and fender has been dropped off to a friends house to get painted
I want my bumper back so I can install the fogs with the new HID kit.

 

I'd offer up my seats for the Recaros. But I have expensive seats sitting in my room, I just don't have money for new seat rails since the one I have atm is for the FC I used to own >.>

 

There's a couple 8's in the area. But only a few S2s. Steve has one out in the Deerfield/Mason area. Only other one on these boards. I used to see a Blue one on the way to work that'd get on the highway with me, but head West on 275 instead.

I'm a fan of the R3. Got lucky enough to find a guy that was ridiculously local (but traveling between here and Chicago, which is why mine is sitting around 50k miles) and got to sit in the car and test drive it before I bought it.

 

Welcome a2wallen, don't worry about the seats, there tight but offer great support. You'll fit. Nice choice in the R3. Seems like we have doubled in numbers over the past year. Should bring out a lot of new people when the weather gets warm...

 

Funny how I was just saying I haven't seen many S2s, was just on 275 and saw a blue r3. He was still heading east when I got on 71 north.

 

If your father lives in the area of NKY, I have seen that car. R3+Coilovers = Win

 

And nice to know there are those out there who'd take the seats off my hands... Kinda afraid of what Fuztupnz was suggesting, and sort of excited at the same time....

Pretty much the perfect seat for it. You really don't move anywhere. Unless you're too skinny for the seats, like me. Still, minimal movement.

Oh, and everyone is super jealous of the Recaros... so they're all willing to trade with you. A sense of humor is mandatory on these boards :p

 

I would have gotten the R3 from Sweeney but they really didn't want to sell me one. I fit in the Recaros, but I got a sweet deal on a GT from Kings. Besides, VRM was on my Speed6 and I had 2 cars in a row that were red, so silver matches my CX-7.

I like the sunroof although it does lower the headroom down by about 2". A little tight for my 6'1" frame, but I'm not staring at the top of the windshield frame like on the Camaro.

I'd like to get the front splitter from an R3 for mine. I guess I have to look up part numbers and see if I can fit one on. Rear spoiler doesn't matter too much to me but the side rocker panels would look nice too.

 

Speaking of kings Mazda, which shop do you guys use to work on your cars? I don't mind doing the work myself, but thought it might be a good idea to have proof of work in case of warranty claims

He'll probably get new wheels this season so it'll be easier to distinguish him from the other black r3's

 

There was a tech at King's that did good work from what I hear, but I've also hear that he's since moved on to a different, non-mazda dealership.

I've never had anyone else work on my car so I'm not sure who to tell you to see.

Kings gave me lifetime free oil changes, but i've only had them do it once. I don't care for using 5w20.

 

I saw him last Summer as I was turning on to Pleasant Valley from 42, he doesn't need new wheels because it already looks different, that car literally stopped me in my tracks. Kind of funny because my wife was with me, and she said, "Why does that one look so much better than your car"? I couldn't disagree with her though LOL

 

I'll add my welcome as well. I'm kind of the black sheep of the group, given I hardly ever drive the 8 (it's my wife's) since I prefer my Miata. Everyone tolerates me though because I can stomp their *** (supercharger). I think I should go to the head of the flock of vultures over your Recaros though, I can offer a pair of black leather heated/powered GT seats.

That seems to be a recurring theme with her, didn't she say something similar when she saw my wife's? Maybe she's trying to tell you something...

As far as mods go on any car, I have never had any complaints from my wife save one, and that was when I put the AFE short shifter in her 8. After her first drive she came tearing into the house demanding to know what I had done to mess up her car and demanding that I put it back. I told her to give it a couple of days (which she did) and that was that. She always says she'd like the power of the Speed6 with the handling of the Miata. Some of you know I'll be working on that next time home.

I'm still on the hunt for plate ideas. Have a couple I like that are available. LETSMA8 may not fly with the wife. Especially when she plans to steal it and leave me with her fusion.

 

"IRA8" and "IRA8ONE" are available. So is "WANKLME" The "zoom" ones have been overdone.

 

Yeah, no zoom zoom on my plates. Kind of liked R3NESIS, saw it in another post.
