You really want me to do the 25mm spacers, don't you?

I really want to do the rims dark and I have a big jar of coins sitting there either going to Vegas with or put into the car. I'm not planning on Vegas anytime soon so I bet I have a couple hundred or more sitting there waiting for me to spend. I'm thinking I'll get the wheels done early March, let them sit for a couple weeks, and then do the springs and tire exchange at the same time. By then the daily temp should be around 50+ so that'll be OK for the summer rubber.

I know your money is tight right now and that is why I suggested it. It would cost about $300 to get spacers with built in studs. There are several guys on here running this type of thing and it really does give the car a totally different look and the best part is that it's not permanent. If you ever decide to get wheels you could sell them and get most of your money back and use that to get some wheels.

paimon.soror is pretty knowledgeable with S2 stuff, check out his ride, he's on stance CO, but you get the idea.

Speaking of S2's. The last time I was at Kerry Mazda I saw a green S2. It was a color I have never seen, like a metallic forest green. Does anyone know what color this is?

I know I'm jumping back a few posts, but to clarify the AP exhaust is 3" catback w/ 4" tips. Burnt shrouds shouldn't be an issue if it's aligned right. I think I hit a speed bump that shifted my tips a little bit so that one of tips was touching the shroud so it finally burned a hole in it, but this was about a year and half after I had it installed.

For the record I love my AP exhaust and midpipe, just the right amount of noise IMO lol. You can always hear me coming down the road. : )

The only time you need to worry about burnt shrouds is if you go catless. My tips are 4 1/2 (115mm) and no issues.

If Redsun's aren't burnt with his AP(he's catless) then you won't have any issues burning shrouds with just a catback.

Hope that helps.

Anybody ever try to mess with the 8?

Just curious if anybody ever gets a "type" of guy that likes to pull up next to you in your 8 and rev his engine and/or guns it next to you while you are just minding your own.

For me... and maybe 'cause it's because I live south of the Mason Dixon, it's always the Chevy/Ford/Dodge truck with an exhaust. This guy usually has a whole chapter written on his back window that usually includes Dixie flag sticker/redneck somewhere on it.

It happens to me all the time lol
Unless I'm in a really pissed off mood/know I can take the pos, I usually screw with them and just wave at them as I start driving in 2nd.

Green S2? Not from the domestic market. The only colors for S2 I remember in the U.S. were Aurora Blue Metallic (R3 2009), Sunlight/Liquid Silver, Velocity Red Mica, White (2009) and Sparkling Black. There was a Nordic Green in S1 unless someone repainted an S2.

I normally get the Honda Civics with the fart can muffler and the big wing pull up next to me and try to get me to run. I just shake my head and pinch my nose closed since their car stinks.

I actually had more people try to get me to run when I had my Speed6. I absolutely tore up a Mustang GT (about a 06-07 model). He came flying up on my tail and minding my own business, I downshifted to 3rd, put some distance between him and my rear bumper and just creamed him in the turns. Of course, I followed all the proper speed limits and didn't harm any small furry animals who happen to be crossing the road at the time.

just installed the AP catback last night, the shrouds have already melted a little bit today. the tips arent touching anything so i might look into exhaust finishers. does anyone use them?

You running the dual res midpipe with that? That may explain the higher heat, if not, is it centered

I don't know if mine is that different, but I have rubbed against it (by accident) when it was running and it wasn't that hot. My tips are thicker than the AP Ti, so that may explain it.

The guy in the Mustang must have known what he was up against. The best one I ever had was, on 275 this dude pulls up next to me in a Dodge truck with a huge MATTRESS in the bed that had some cheap *** Big Lots bungies loosely holding it, and started revving next to me incessantly for about a minute. I turned to my wife and just said, "really?". She said, "why is he doing that?". What can I say, then he just floored it and took off mattress and all.

Civic guys don't bother me anymore, maybe it's the exhaust and 285 tires

I get that all the time... guys in POS trucks, neon SRT, one stupid saturn red line all pimped out, oh yeah couple of mazdaspeed 3's, some mustangs, etc, etc... It may be the way I go and come back home from work, what is hard to tell them is that I'm generally in a hurry... nothing personal with their crappy rides (not so much the speed3) It's just my driving and have the tickets to prove it!! hahahaha!! but ever more if I see one of those guys even if I'm in a hurry, I pull to the middle lane, slow down and I don't even pay them attention... they are just plain stupid... but every now and then it's kinda funny to mess with their egos!!! BB8 one day at fuel remind me of telling you the story of the stupid saturn "red line", my wife said the same thing... it was funny actually...

yeah, he's a busy guy, and I wasn't able to get a hold of him for a while. I'll probably just have the sides and spoiler aprayed by someone cheap around here, it's the fitment(gaps) and finish on that bumper that I am concerned about. I was kind of reluctant to contact him for a long time because I thought we was just going to be way too expensive given some of the work he does, but he quoted me a reasonable price, so I figured what the heck?

Thanks Kevin. As it turns out I'll only be here until the first week of April so you will all see me at Fuel by the second week. It sucks because only being gone for two months will wreak havoc on finances but I'm going to try and work on that. At least I'll be able to get the winter wheels off the wife's 8 then (probably going to sell the set and just get her some all-seasons for the stockers as she doesn't drive hard enough to justify me worrying with swapping them over).

The wife has had more people try to race her in the Speed6 than me, usually Hondas that she puts down (and she doesn't even know how to launch). I usually get the big-*** trucks coming right up my rear bumper at lights in the Miata. I'm waiting for one of them to jump the light one day and run right over me. I've had a few people try to race me in the Miata but for the most part I think the darker color, rollbar and wheels put them off. Of course I may have to go trolling a bit once I get the MP62 installed...

Anyone know where I can find out what my advanced smart key fobs FCC ID number is so I can get a replacement off of eBay.

Thanks.

Hey Chief, glad to hear you'll be back for tax day. Maybe I'll get a refund and forget to tell the wife where $600 went. She'll guess if she hears the exhaust though.

I respect MS3's and MS6's. They'll launch like crazy (MS6 with the AWD makes it hard to turn over the tires) but in the corners, there's no comparison. MS3 actually does a pretty good job in the twisties since it's a bit lighter than the Spd6.

Had the oil changed at King's today. Record time to get an oil change and fix the fuel door release. In and out in about 30 minutes. Cheryl is a great service advisor and fun to kid around with.

They had 3 2011 RX-8s on the lot. Black, Silver, and Red GTs. All waiting for someone to buy. I really like the black ones now. I wish Mark Knox would have had one as his demo. I think they had a couple more used ones, like the 09 GT in white with window tint (certified used and looked clean) and a couple S1's there. Also a ragged out 05 in blue. Nasty with pin stripes. Must have come from KY. LOL

I guess I just don't look intimidating enough to race. I've literally never had anyone rev at me, and it's been almost a year since I got her. No idea...

On my way out to lunch yesterday, not one but two 8's passed me going the opposite way. I was on Beckett rd headed towards 747 and passed a BB then about 30 seconds later a silver that I think had some stickers on the back (guess I didn't wrench my neck enough to get a good look!). I was in a coworkers van so you would not have noticed me at all.

Anybody here?
