Sad to say NO! I did call Mazda North America today though, to complain about the fact that they were not providing a rental/loaner car & that the bill for such was coming out of my own pocket. Well the lady I talk to was very helpful & contected Univ. Mazda. The next thing I know the Service Manager Phillip calls me and apologizes and now Mazda is picking up the tab for the rental car. It turns out that under the extension for the engine & power train you are supposed to get a rental.loaner car. As it stands right now the new motor is not even in New Mexico. When will it arrive? No one can seam to tell me this now. If I am super extra lucky I might get the 8 back by mid to late week. If it is at all possible I am going to try and put as many miles on the car & hopefully make track day & drive. If I can not get enough miles on it I still plan on attending no matter what!! If I can not drive @ Track Day does any one have room in the back seat????

I have been thinking as to how we might gain more 8's in the ranks other than leaving notes on other 8's windshields. I was wondering if maybe we had some sort of a window decal advertising the site that was not to gaudy (sp?) that maybe other 8 drivers would see it and maybe join. So I sat down this evening and played with a couple of ideas. Here they are

If there is enough interest then maybe we can look into having these made up. Let me know what you guys think of them and if you have any other design ideas also which one you like the best.

Stinger,

Way to go man! All three are pretty awesome but I prefer #1. I like the fact that it has the rotor graphic. What size do you think would be large enough without being too big (4"x4" or 5"x5")?

I can't speak for everyone, but I would think that every one currently in the club would love to stick one of these on their window. It would be great local advertising!

I also agree with number one. but not sure when I will have another 8 again.. long battle begins. but I do like the designs and think it's great idea to know who all is in the club.

I am glad that the 2 of you liked them! If we were to go with 5" the finished product would be 5"w X 5 5/16" h & the 4" would finish 4"w X 4 1/4"h.
I also was wondering if any of you had some other ideas or maybe some tweeks that might make this look even better?

Ocho sorry to hear this is going to end up being a battle! Why & the HELL does Insurance Companies have to be this way? You had an 8 that was in PERFECT condition that had a straight frame ( I am sure it isnt now)nothing wrong with the body , but now all you have is a car that looks like it came out of the TRUCK CRUSHER! Oh Yeah thats right it did! But all you are asking for is your * back in the Exact same condition that it was before it got smashed. Which we all know is IMPOSSIBLE after such a CRUSHING! I hope that it all works out for you here real soon Ocho and hopefully you will be in a brand new 07 8!

I have seen several other RX8's down in the southeast part of the state (Roswell and Artesia), and have commented online in the NM threads to see if those folks are members or not. So far I have yet to get a ping back. It seems like most of the core activities and local members live and operate in Albequerque and the surrounding area. For me the logistics of making that trek up from Artesia is a difficult one, especially since I spend part of my life in my true home location in the St.Louis Missouri area. Lots of 1000 mile road trips really has an affect on a guys desire to take side trips.

You guys do seem to have a pretty cohesive group up there though, and I recently had an invite to the track day deal, but due to my travels could not make. I did appreciate that though so thanks again! Anyway based on what I see, the NM part of the club seems to gain its strength from the Northern part of the state and certainly not from down here in my part of NM.

This is a good idea. But how about adding an invite to the 8 owner with the window sticker & telling them where in the forum they can find us.

Oh, and whats with the color. thats not going to go good with my Phantom Blue at all.... How about transparent with a black or gray outline of the state & matching the lettering in silver or crome..... just a suggestion.

Hello Juggernaut9! You wouldn't happen to be the guy I ran into on UNM campuss would you? As for the colors? Mostly I had just used the colors from the N.M. State flag. As for your suggestions they are very welcome & appreciated. This just an idea I had & I wanted to get as much imput from everyone as possible as I could before proceeding to much farther. I will see what I can do with the design in photo shop as soon as I get a chance & post any new results for the rest of you to ponder!

No I'm not the one from UNM. But I would defenitly put one of the stickers in my window if I got the right color. Recently I have been seeing a lot of 8's in Alb. & none of them seem to be members of the forum. We need to get things going so we can have a big meet this summer with more than 5 or 6 RX-8's..... Come on guys.

Poeple do come to the forums but nobody responds or follows through with anything. I got a total of one responce to my post. Nobody in NM wants to get more local people involved..... The overwhelming responces to this thred shows that.

Welcome to the club. Nemesis6R Yes. Sometimes it is like pulling teeth to get the NM group in one place. But being only about 20 active members, when you can get 8 or more together that is pretty good. Well don't forget about our RX-7 buddies. NMrotary club is in the works to help combine the 8 and 7 owners and to make a more organized club. Well enjoy.
