Be aware though, that with bad credit, even if you get a loan, you'll probablty be paying double-digit interest rates.

If this is for a basic-transportation car, finance as little as possible. Forget the Xterra, get a Pontiac and get your finances back together.
yeah I am going for something cheaper. I would love an xterra but I know its not the smartest thing to do. Honestly my bill load now is ALL together less then just my mtg payment was before and my income is higher then it ever was so in reality I can afford a bit more then the banks apparently trust me with haha. I think im going to go buy a beeter for 1-2k and drive it for a year and hopefully the credit will impove a bit

I freakin' hate credit. Mostly cause I screwed it up but I hate how the only thing that really makes it better is time.

And yes I do pay double digit interest rates. 15.6% Ouch. but I had no other choice.
Gook luck Triple T.

id be happy with that, im sure im looking in the 20 something range. Im just going to bypass the whole credit thing right now I think. just buy cash and drive a pos around. I still have the 8 that my wife with drive so atleast we have one nice car.

Credit is a scam/rip off, I agree. A job loss can **** you for YEARS where the previous three years I have had 2 car loans and several credit cards with PERFECT payments and low balances. takes a few months to ruin 3 years worth of building up and now it will take 5 years just to get back where I was.

My 8 is my weekend car- I drive a '91 Explorer the rest of the week, and all winter long. Of course, I bought it BN in '91, but now it's a rusted-out POS. I can't replace it for what it's worth, so I'll keep driving it until it falls apart...then probably get a Yaris or something similar, lol.

We paid-off our house 2 years ago.

man you must be old!!! haha jk, I wish I could have paid off my house, instead we paid 170k for it in shitty condition, spent a month remodeling before we moved in (cheap since I did all of the work myself) doing the kitchen, bathrooms, crownmoulding, all new paint, redoing some of the baseboards, nice fireplace mantel etc. and then it goes up for sale at 120k and dont even get an offer in 6 months..

So now here I am with a terrible credit score at 21 years old, thank god im young enough to rebuild it at a reasonable age, to bad I have no patients though haha.

BTW if any of you guys know of anyone selling a reliable car or truck for roughly 2k that would be awesome. Rather get something that we know is reliable vs a shot in the dark with a random car from the internet

^^ Whippersnapper!

I paid off the house in 17 years and 10 months, I'll have you know. I'm not THAT old!

Right now I'm looking for a used car for my daughter. I have about $3,000 budgeted and want to get it before summer. It's going to be her 17th birthday present.

My old man is going to be 59. I don't think JT is really close to that.

Tim, if you'd go to the "over 40" thread in the lounge, you'd see how old I am. Oh, heck, I'll tell you.

I'm 50 going on 18. So, yes, I'm old enough to be EVERYBODY's dad! There are only two or three guys in the Salt Lake Rotary club older than me (not by much), and we all knew each other back when we were young and driving first-gen RX-7's.

Darius, I take it that you've heard that comparison before? lol, sorry! At least you don't look like Yu-gi-Oh! And yeah, the women melt for Edward, it could be a LOT worse.

I came to work late today, and as I was northbound on I-215 at about 9 am, I saw a black 8 and grey 8 a mile behind it, both going southbound near the airport. Unusual to see two so close together in time and space.

Anybody?
