Nope, I only have 48,XXX miles on my car. Mazda North America has voided my warranty and flagged my VIN, because "my highflow cat and exhaust caused my engine to lose compression" or some BS to that effect. Which is crap cause my car runs fine and isn't low on power. So the real reason is the dealership was being lazy and wanted to bleed me dry. The only thing my car needed was coils and plugs, haven't had any problems since.

yeah, looks like its because of shifting with the clutch not fully disengaged so its not covered under warrenty. its gonna cost about 1700 to replace second and third gear :-(

Move your seat forward an inch or two.

Make sure they check your clutch pedal, there are spot welds that are know to be weak and break, might be related but not sure.

Hell if you can get a lightened flywheel and clutch installed since they are already down there. BHR can probably get you a good deal on a setup. But I still am curious about your clutch pedal assembly. The new one I bet would be around 2300 with shipping but to be sure I would still contact Mazmart for sure.

Have you had them check your clutch pedal bracket yet?

On a lighter note, I just ordered the BHR yukon coil kit. Should arrive in a couple weeks. I'll let you know more details when the arrive and are installed.

Your not getting any cel's either? I really don't know, only thing I can think of is maybe an exhaust leak at the manifold, I've seen it on a few cars. Does the ticking get any louder with raising the rpm's?

Post it in the Issues and Problems forum, see if it's a common problem. Bose, what do you think about the fuel pump? Is it under the hood, or in the back?

The fuel pump is in the tank and under the passenger rear seat. I would agree with you if it was under the hood though.

Semantics Schemantics, That's what I was leaning towards. My internet diagnostic is exhaust leak at the exhaust manifold. But it's kind of a shot in the dark w/o seeing it.

Every time I read about an 8 with a problem, the next time I'm in mine I'm always listening, paranoid! My engine has been flawless in the nearly 2 years since I drove her off the lot. 8580 miles as of today. It was so nice when I opened the garage today, that I left the Explorer home and drove the 8 to work. And I rarely drive it at all in December, January, and February, scared of the salt monster. I've only put about 100 miles on her since Thanksgiving.

Say, who's premixing around here, besides me and bose?

And is anyone running any thing other that 5w20 dino oil? I am thinking of switching to Redline 5w30. Rest of the world uses that grade and we have more engine failures vs. rest of the world, and if nothing else do it to spite the EPA and their emissions.
