November 1 meet 'n feed

Here's the line-up in the Applebee's parking lot today:

This shot is a chop of two that I did to get everyone's car in the line-up. I'm still trying to learn how to use my JVC hard drive camcorder, and while it takes killer videos, it only takes medium-resolution stills. I'll post more as I get them uploaded and cleaned-up.

Had a great time meeting new folks and seeing old friends. Thanks to everyone who showed-up! Even Shep, SLCrotary admin, dropped by with his two adorable kids, who had a blast driving my SS Nikko RC around the parking lot.

How about our waiter? I told him that my wife wanted a "fruity" drink, and he said that every drink he brings is fruity, lol!

My wife and daughter thought the pull-out and drive-off was totally cool. Did you catch all the other drivers on State street looking at us revving, and zipping that U-turn? What a hoot!

Thanks again gang. We have to do this more often.

Great pics guys, JT you need to get a day for good drive cause it was great. That old couple was hilarious.

The waiter was too much for sure, but entertaining none the less. But we do need to do this more often I agree it was a great time seeing everyone.

I almost rear ended that broad. I couldn't believe se was doing that good thing our little beauties stop as well as they do.

Interesting that you guys drove up to Big Mountain- I had just taken a cruise up there two weeks ago, no kidding! Love those tight curves below the summit.

We'll do it more often next spring, for sure, and I'll make sure I can get away. I'm buying the kid a beater car of her own sometime next spring or early summer, then she can get herself where she needs to go.

Yes

It was a very fun ride, me and the roomie went to Park city yesterday. Holy crap on the rain, we couldn't see probably ten feet in front of us. We need to make a spring run up parleys and down thru Alpine canyon Would be a blast. .

As long as the salt isn't on the roads yet, I'm still up for a Wendover cruise this month. Sunny and dry is OK, even if it's not warm.

Be cool to head over on a Friday night, stay at Montego Bay, head back the next morning. The suites at Montego Bay are awesome. Jaccuzi tubs right in the rooms.

I saw the salt trucks out this morning.

DAMN!

That means Jethro is done until next spring. The 8 is garaged until spring rains wash away the road salt. I suppose if we got a warm spell for a few weeks this winter and some good steady rain, I could take it out, but barring that, she stays in the garage.

All of you who drive your 8 all winter, be careful!

I do drive it in the winter but not today. Summer performance tires are about as good a skateboard wheels.

I had to dash home to get some tools before lunch, and the !@#$%^*&! salt trucks were in my neighborhood!

There's just no need for it this early in the season. With luck, they'll exhaust their salt budget early.

I may as well start skiing again; there isn't going to be any fast driving for a while.

A full day pass is going to be about two full gas tanks. I heard 72 a day for a lift ticket at snowbird. Freaking crazy.

Sorry guys, I was really lookin forward to it I was so hung over on Saturday (and Sunday, and part of Monday ) that I didn't even leave the house! When I finally did in the evening I saw a silver 8 on 1100 E and 2100 S. I'm glad you guys had fun though, but you needed another black one The pictures look good! I can't even imagine the kinda looks you guys got

RoXas, that toy is SICK! I want one!!

Yeah these tires are slick! I'll get my oil changed here in a couple weeks and have them throw on my pirelli's - really amazing snow and ice sport tire, seriously, I was amazed at how well they grip, but get them from big O or Discount tires, for a better price, warranty, etc. Just don't try to mount em yourself, you'll ruin the wheel, or tire, or both. It's not worth the hassle, have the pro's do it.

P.S. Snowbird opens TOMORROW!!!! and Solitude is not to far behind...maybe I'll go work for one of em, just for the pass. All of them are still hiring.

I think Brighton opens on the 12th I am not sure I will be going up until we get some more snow because I don't want anything but fresh powder for feet under my beautiful option But I did get those 1200 dollar snow tires on my car that I bought last year They make my amazing car feel like a cadilac (handling wise) And I have the undercarriage coated from the dealer but I was also very upset to see the salt being put on the roads if anyone wants to go ride on the mountain together you should pm me and I will give you my # so we can meet up

yeah I take my rock board this early, but I have a friend who's a meteorologist and she said 4' ! Either way, I'm down for those pre-season prices. I'll pm you if I go. i should get my undercarriage coated too (no sick jokes here...) cuz i'm not too impressed already with how well they DIDN'T seal our car (i.e. rusting)

You guys, we do have a really hot little car!

Love the new avatar, En! You should try and get "BAD ***" for a license plate!

I was out in Sandy today. Passed another silver 8 on Ft. Union, about 2-ish. Anyone? I didn't recognize the guy, he was 25-35, dark hair, beard, on the phone.

Good God why do I have to deal with snow, what diabolical being would create such a horrid concoction of elements. Utterly RANCID.

I agree that we should not have to deal with the snow unless you want to.. it should only snow in the mountains

At what elevation do you live? With the exception of St. George I seem to remember that Utah is it's own mountain.
